  • Serve as the subject matter expert on CBA interactions with Workday.
  • Maintain and enhance the CBA Intelligence platform to ensure accuracy.

TheSeniorManager,CollectiveAgreementGovernance&HRSystemsisresponsiblefortranslatingcollectivebargainingagreement(CBA)languageintooperationalandsystemrequirementswithinWorkdayandrelatedHRsystems.ThisroleservesasthecriticalbridgebetweenLabourRelations,HR,Compensation,Benefits,Payroll,andHRISteamstoassesstheimpactofnegotiatedchanges,determinerequiredsystemconfigurations,andleadimplementationactivities,whileensuringHRteams,managers,andemployeeshaveareliable,accuratesourceforCBA-relatedquestions.


TheidealcandidatecombinesdeepunderstandingofcollectiveagreementlanguagewithstrongWorkdayandHRsystemsexpertise,enablingthemtoassessthecomplexity,risk,anddownstreamimplicationsofnegotiatedchangesacrosspeopleprocesses,compensation,benefits,payroll,seniority,scheduling,andworkforcedata.


Thisroleishighlyconsultativeandproject-oriented,requiringstronganalyticalskills,technicalacumen,stakeholdermanagement,andtheabilitytoleadcross-functionalimplementationeffortsresultingfromcollectivebargainingnegotiations.

Keyresponsibilitiesinclude:


  • Reviewandinterpretcollectivebargainingagreements,memorandaofsettlement,arbitrationoutcomes,andnegotiatedlanguagechanges.
  • AssesstheoperationalandsystemsimpactofproposedorfinalizedCBAchangesacrossHR,Payroll,Benefits,TimeTracking,Absence,Compensation,andWorkdaybusinessprocesses.
  • TranslatecollectiveagreementlanguageintoclearbusinessandtechnicalrequirementsforHRISandoperationalteams.
  • Identifywhetherproposedchangesrequireconfigurationupdates,integrations,processredesign,reportingchanges,manualworkarounds,orbroadersystemenhancements.
  • Evaluatethesize,complexity,cost,andimplementationriskassociatedwithnegotiatedchanges.
  • ActasthesubjectmatterexpertonhowcollectiveagreementprovisionsinteractwithWorkdayfunctionalityandHRdatastructures.
  • PartnerwithHRISandtechnicalteamstodetermineoptimalsystemsolutionsandconfigurationapproaches.Thismayincludeworkingdirectlywiththevendor(s).
  • ValidatethatWorkdayconfigurationsalignwithnegotiatedlabourprovisionsandorganizationalpolicies.
  • Supporttestingstrategies,defectresolution,andvalidationactivitiesrelatedtolabour-drivensystemchanges.
  • Maintaindocumentationofsystemlogic,configurationdecisions,businessrules,andCBA-relatedimpacts.
  • WorkingdirectlywithCompensation,assessimpactsofnegotiatedchangestocompensationstructures,premiums,seniorityrules,benefitseligibility,accruals,entitlements,andworkforcedata.
  • EnsuredatacomplianceacrossHRIS,payroll,anddownstreamsystems.
  • Identifyopportunitiestostandardizeandimprovelabour-relatedsystemprocessesandcontrols.
  • ServeasatrustedadvisortoLabourRelations,HRleadership,andoperationalstakeholdersonsystemimplicationsofbargainingproposals.
  • Providestrategicguidanceduringnegotiationsregardingfeasibility,implementationeffort,operationalrisk,andsystemscomplexity.
  • Facilitatediscussionsbetweentechnicalandnon-technicalstakeholderstoensurealignmentandunderstanding.
  • Supportaudits,compliancereviews,andreportingrequirementsrelatedtocollectiveagreementadministration.
  • Developandowntheorganization27sCBAIntelligenceplatform,actingastheprimarybusinessowneraccountableforitsaccuracy,reliability,andongoingvaluetotheorganization.
  • EnsuretheCBAIntelligencePlatform27sunderlyingCBAcontent,interpretations,andbusinessrulesremaincurrentasagreementsarenegotiated,amended,orrenewed.
  • ServeastheescalationpointforHRteams,managers,andemployeesusingtheCBAIntelligencePlatformtoanswerquestionsaboutcollectiveagreementprovisions,ensuringresponsesareaccurateandconsistentwithnegotiatedlanguage.
  • PartnerwithHRIS,IT,andtheplatformvendortoprioritizeenhancements,resolvedefects,andmanagetheplatformroadmap.
  • Leadtraining,communication,andchangemanagementactivitiestodriveadoptionofCBAIntelligencePlatformamongHRteams,managers,andemployees.
