You'll serve as a trusted advisor, partnering with clients' existing finance and leadership teams to strengthen their accounting operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong accounting leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes, and building lasting client relationships while helping shape the continued growth of a collaborative CAS practice.

What You'll Do

  • Build trusted client relationships, understand evolving business needs, and translate accounting information into practical insights and recommendations that support client retention and growth
  • Review monthly and periodic financial statements, reconciliations, general ledger activity, accounts payable, payroll, and other recurring accounting deliverables
  • Provide advisory support in areas such as budgeting and forecasting, financial statement analysis, internal controls, process improvement, and business intelligence reporting
  • Guide accounting system implementations, conversions, and technology-enabled workflow improvements, including solutions within the QuickBooks ecosystem
  • Supervise, coach, and develop staff assigned to engagements; provide timely feedback and create opportunities for continued growth
  • Monitor engagement performance, capacity, realization, and profitability, proactively addressing risks or changes in scope
  • Collaborate with tax, assurance, advisory, and other BMSS professionals to coordinate client service and identify appropriate solutions
  • Support proposal development, client onboarding, strategic CAS initiatives, and a positive, accountable team culture

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing multiple client engagements or comparable public accounting experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, reviewing work, managing engagement economics, and developing client relationships
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop; QuickBooks certifications and experience with platforms such as Bill.com, Rightworks, and fixed asset software strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, solve complex problems, and communicate recommendations clearly to clients and team members
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • CPA or other relevant professional credential strongly preferred
  • NFP experience is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Located near the BMSS office in Ridgeland or willing to commute/relocate, with the ability to travel periodically within Mississippi; no long-term overnight travel expected

  • Meaningful client relationships across a variety of industries, with a culture that values balance, mentorship, and long-term growth
  • Deep roots in our local communities-we care where we live and work
  • A team-first environment with strong internal support and cross-functional resources

What We Offer

  • Company-paid Medical, Dental & Vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous paid time off, including volunteer days and holidays
