Full Job Description
Participate in the execution of external audit engagements of various clients, including investment funds subject to the SEC Custody Rule and their respective investment advisors. Review regulatory filings and research technical accounting issues. Evaluate financial statement presentations and disclosures for unitized and non-unitized legal entity structures inclusive of U.S. and offshore domiciled hedge, venture capital, and private equity funds under U.S. GAAP. Review valuations of financial instruments, including SWAP agreements, CFDs, forward and futures contracts, and other derivative products. Evaluate private capital valuation methodologies, including market approach, income approach, and cost approach. Apply Asset Management industry rules and regulations, including SEC Custody Rule and registration rules for offshore jurisdictions.

WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:

Must have an active California CPA license.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:

Travel to various locations throughout the U.S. required up to 5%.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, and 7 years of related work experience, out of which 5 years must be post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following: Applying U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Standards for Financial Reporting (IFRS); Applying U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) or International Standards on Auditing (ISA); Implementing private capital valuations, including market approach, income approach, and cost approach; Implementing valuation of derivative instruments; Testing and assessing investment fund internal controls in accordance with AICPA auditing standards including ASC 946 and ASC 820; Performing auditing procedures consistent with the requirements of US GAAS or ISA and the SEC custody rule.
