Senior Manager, AI Business Transformation & Workflow Redesign

The Role: As Senior Manager, AI Business Transformation & Workflow Redesign, you will join the AI Enablement team and lead the redesign of high-value business workflows enabled by AI across Mackenzie Investments. You will work within the strategic direction established by the Vice President, AI Strategy & Business Transformation and partner with business leaders to translate AI priorities into practical operating model changes and measurable business outcomes.

This role focuses on how work should change: mapping current-state processes, identifying opportunities to improve advisor and client experience, employee productivity, risk control, speed, quality and scalability, and designing future-state workflows that can be implemented and adopted. You will work closely with AI enablement, technology, data, architecture, risk, legal, compliance, privacy, security, change and business teams. Success will be measured by sustained adoption, measurable business value and the extent to which AI initiatives strengthen Mackenzie's operating model and competitive position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead current-state workflow diagnostics across priority business areas, including distribution, marketing and product.
  • Facilitate working sessions to identify pain points, manual effort, control gaps, decision bottlenecks, data needs and opportunities for AI-enabled transformation.
  • Design future-state workflows that integrate AI, automation, data, human judgment, governance, controls and clear role accountabilities.
  • Translate strategic AI opportunities into initiative charters, business requirements, workflow maps, use cases, success measures and implementation roadmaps.
  • Lead the business-side implementation and adoption of AI-enabled workflow changes, including stakeholder engagement, training, communications and readiness planning.
  • Define practical KPIs, establish baseline measures and track benefits such as productivity, cycle time, quality, risk reduction, advisor and client experience, revenue enablement and cost-to-serve.
  • Embed responsible AI, privacy, security, legal, compliance, model risk, operational risk, records management and human-oversight requirements into workflow design.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, information systems, technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of professional experience in business transformation, operating model redesign, process improvement, consulting, product or process management, digital transformation, financial services or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional business change initiatives from discovery through implementation and adoption.
  • Strong capability in process mapping, pain-point analysis, future-state workflow and operating model design, requirements definition, stakeholder facilitation and implementation planning.
  • Practical understanding of AI, generative AI, agentic AI, automation, data workflows, analytics, enterprise platforms and digital operating models, including the ability to translate capabilities and limitations into business implications.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, structured problem-solving, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, subject-matter experts, front-line teams, technology partners and control functions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in asset management, wealth management, distribution, advisor experience, investment operations, marketing, product, client service or another regulated financial-services environment.
  • Experience redesigning workflows enabled by AI, automation, data, CRM, content platforms, service tools, knowledge-management systems or low-code/no-code solutions.
  • MBA, master's degree or certification in Lean Six Sigma, business architecture, process improvement, product management, change management or transformation.
  • Experience defining success measures, establishing baseline metrics, tracking benefits and embedding new ways of working into business routines.

The expected annual base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $150,000, which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.

Benefits:
  • COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION & RECOGNITION: competitive base salary, performance-weighted bonus, education/career support, option to join Employee Share Purchase Plan with employer matching component.
  • EMPLOYEE BENEFITS & INSURANCE: competitive health and dental coverage, flexible plan for you and your family and short-term & long-term disability plans.
  • RETIREMENT SAVINGS PROGRAMS: voluntary Group RRSP enrolment with employer matching component.
  • WORK LIFE BALANCE: paid volunteer days, competitive time off including 10 wellness days off, WorkPerks discount program, hybrid & flex work arrangements.
  • INCLUSIVE CULTURE AND DIVERSITY: living our core values: Be a Team, Be Accountable, Be Better, engaging with community through Business Resource Groups (BRG communities are volunteer employee-led groups formed around a common interest, identity, or background).
