Position Summary

Construction Solutions (CS) is a critical subdomain of Southland's Project Operations Solutions (POS), focused on supporting construction operations and field teams through consistent, connected solutions that improve how work gets executed.

As the Senior Manager, AEC Technologies, you will lead the direction, rollout, and improvement of core construction technologies. This includes Construction Platforms (Autodesk Forma and related tools), Reality Capture (Cupix, Matterport, FARO), and Commissioning Solutions.

The role is focused on making tools and processes easier to use, improving consistency across divisions, and helping teams deliver work more efficiently and accurately.

You will work closely with operations, IT, and divisional leadership to ensure solutions fit how work is actually done in the field and continue to improve over time. Travel to divisional offices and fabrication shops is required.

Position Details

Relationship Building/Management
  • Build strong working relationships with project teams, IT, Operations, Construction Managers, and divisional leadership.
  • Provide clear direction on construction solutions and align efforts with business needs.
  • Promote collaboration and shared accountability across Building Lifecycle Solutions teams.
  • Stay connected to how field and project teams operate and where they are running into issues.
  • Act as a central point of contact for construction solutions across the organization.
  • Engage with industry groups and partners to stay current on tools and trends that bring real value.

Workflow Optimization
  • Work with Divisional leadership and functional teams to improve how construction processes are carried out across projects.
  • Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current processes and define practical improvements.
  • Standardize key workflows where it adds value and improves consistency across divisions.
  • Help teams apply consistent practices across design, construction, field execution, and closeout.
  • Improve how information flows between the field and office to reduce manual effort and improve visibility.
  • Define practical measures that show whether tools and processes are being used consistently and where support is needed.
  • Ensure construction workflows support consistent, reliable, and connected information flow between the field, office, and supporting systems.

Technology Deployment
  • Oversee implementation and improvement of construction solutions across the company.
  • Provide direction on how Autodesk Forma and related tools are used across divisions.
  • Lead deployment of reality capture and commissioning solutions in ways that support field teams and project needs.
  • Ensure solutions are practical, connected, and fit how teams operate in the field.
  • Support new jobsites, offices, and acquired operations with the right setup, standards, and tools.
  • Evaluate and test new tools where they provide clear value.

Change Management
  • Lead rollout of new tools and changes to how teams work, ensuring smooth adoption.
  • Communicate changes clearly so teams understand what is changing, why it matters, and what support they will have.
  • Gather feedback from users and adjust based on what is working.
  • Ensure teams are trained and ready before new tools or processes go live.
  • Roll out updates in a way that fits how divisions operate without adding unnecessary process.

Support and Documentation
  • Provide mentorship and support to strengthen team capability.
  • Ensure documentation for tools, processes, standards, and support materials is clear and easy to use.
  • Support teams in resolving issues and removing blockers.
  • Ensure construction data is accurate, consistent, and usable to support decision-making across projects and teams.
  • Help maintain a reliable source of truth for how construction solutions are used across the company.
  • Track performance and identify where solutions are helping teams work more consistently or where adjustments are needed.

Strategic Planning & Governance
  • Align construction solutions with business goals and operational priorities.
  • Define and maintain standards for how construction solutions are used across projects to promote consistency and repeatability.
  • Help define the direction for construction tools, data, and processes across the company.
  • Ensure solutions scale across divisions while allowing flexibility where needed.
  • Support planning efforts to prioritize the right investments and improvements.
  • Stay aware of industry changes and bring forward practical ideas worth exploring.
  • Ensure construction solutions support accurate, accessible, and usable information that enables teams to make timely and informed decisions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in construction, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in construction solutions, field technology, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations and field workflows.
  • Experience leading system implementations across construction teams.
  • Experience with Autodesk Forma or similar platforms.
