Job Description The Senior Manager, Accounting leads the company's accounting function, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, a strong internal control environment, and scalable processes that support continued business growth. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across accounting operations, drives process optimization and systems enhancement, and partners closely with executive leadership to align accounting practices with broader organizational objectives. The Senior Manager plays a critical role in supporting complex transactions, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and building a high-performing, forward-looking team focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Core Job Duties - Provide enterprise-wide technical accounting leadership, including interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards and complex transactions.
- Serve as the accounting lead for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, including due diligence, integration, and purchase accounting.
- Provide monthly cash flow analysis and balance sheet reporting compliant with GAAP to Finance.
- Oversee general ledger activities and close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across business units.
- Drive transformation and optimization of the month-end and year-end close processes, including automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Finance, Tax, and other business leaders to deliver insightful financial reporting and support strategic decision-making.
- Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to improve data quality, financial systems, and reporting capabilities in partnership with IT and Development teams.
- Oversee external audit relationships, ensuring efficient audit execution and timely resolution of complex accounting matters.
- Strengthen the company's internal control environment and risk management framework.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to improve operational efficiency, financial visibility, and cost management.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting organization, including mentoring senior leaders and succession planning.
- Champion a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the accounting function.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Expertise in purchase accounting including fair value assessment, impairment analysis and tracking of purchase commitments and contingent liabilities. Industry or audit experience required.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to lead teams and operate effectively in complex, high-growth environments.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial/ERP systems.
- Demonstrated experience driving process improvements and scalable operations.
