Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing regulatory cost reports for various health care facilities.
  • Support department audits, reviews, and appeals to ensure compliance.
  • Review resident data to confirm accurate Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs) for Medicare Reimbursement.
  • Coordinate completion of Physician Time Studies across facilities.
  • Conduct department analyses and prepare reimbursement-related documents.
  • Respond to surveys and data requests from health organizations and regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in team meetings with department and facility leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the preparation of workpapers needed for the completion and submission of the following regulatory cost reports:
    NYS Department of Health Institutional Cost Report (ICR)
    - NYS Department of Health Ambulatory Health Care Facility Cost Report (AHCF)
    - NYS Department of Health Residential Health Care Facility Cost Report (RHCF)
    - Medicare 2552 Cost Report for Acute Care Facilities.
    - Medicare 2540 Cost Report for Post-Acute Care facilities
    - Medicare 224 Cost Report for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC)
  • Assist the department in preparing for and responding to various report certifications/recertifications, audits, reviews and appeals.
  • Review resident data capture to support accurate FTE's for Medicare Reimbursement
  • Coordinate with facilities for the completion of the Physician Time Studies
  • Assist with various department analyses and projects, including preparation, submission/dissemination of various other reimbursement related forms and documents.
  • Prepare responses to various surveys and data requests, including routine reporting required by GNYHA, AHA, AEH and HANYS
  • Participate in team meetings with departmental and facility leadership.


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Master's degree in public administration or business administration, or in an equivalent or equally acceptable program, and four (4) years of satisfactory, full-time paid experience in a major governmental agency or large corporation or foundation in management analysis or in operational direction, planning, coordination or control of which two (2) years must have been in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity; or
2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience as stated in #1 above of which three (3) years must have been in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity; or
3. A satisfactory equivalent, however, all candidates must possess not less than the two (2) years of supervisory, administrative or consultative experience required. Four (4) years of appropriate general experience may be substituted for a Baccalaureate degree requirement. Appropriate full-time teaching experience in an accredited college or university may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience and appropriate full-time teaching experience in a position of professional rank may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required supervisory, administrative or consultative experience.

Department Preferences

  • Minimum 2 years' experience supporting financial reporting, analysis or operations, preferably for a healthcare organization

    - Medicare and Medicaid Cost Report Regulations
    - NYS ICR, AHCF & RHCF reports
    - Medicare 2552 Cost Report
