Job Description

SAIC is looking for a Senior Logistics Engineer to ensure program data is distributed to other Logistics team members as needed for Logistics product development, including CDMD-OA, ILS Checklists, Provisioning, ILS Packages, Technical Documentation, PMS, DMSMS, and PSD.

This position is in support of (GBAD) Ground base air defense, specifically (L-MADIS) Light Marine Air Defense Integrated systems.

This position is Hybrid and is open to candidates local to the Charleston, SC area only.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Provide and update the Provisioning Parts List (PPL) containing the end item, component or assembly and all support items which can be disassembled, reassembled, or replaced, and which, when combined, constitute the end item, component, or assembly. Update final PPL using the screening results provided by Defense Logistics Agency - Logistics Information Services (Log Info Svcs)
  • Provide and maintain the Common and Bulk Items List (CBIL), containing those items that are difficult or impractical to list on a top down/disassembly sequence PPL, but for which provisioning may be required to support the operation of the end item/equipment., and are subject to wear or failure, or otherwise required for maintenance, including planned maintenance of the end item/equipment and indicating the material type, grade, class, etc.
  • Provide a copy of the PPL as pre-screening data. The PPL shall be delivered in the format identified during the Provisioning Planning/Guidance Conference
  • Provide on-site technical support during the Supportability Demonstration, as needed
  • Use a Design Change Notice (DCN) to identify changes to Provisioning Technical Documentation which add to, delete, supersede, or modify items previously listed which are approved for incorporation into the end item
  • Ensure Engineering Data for Provisioning (EDFP) include technical information of items for maintenance support considerations and Item identification/descriptions necessary for: Cataloging actions and assignment of a National Stock Number, Review for Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS) item entry control, Standardization to include standardization/interchangeability, Item management coding, Identification/procurement of initial spares, and Preparation of allowance/issue lists
  • Begin development of a list of all Line Replaceable Units (LRU) present on the PPL. The LRU list shall reflect those items that can be removed and replaced at the field level (organization or intermediate). The list shall include, but is not limited to description, manufacturer, manufacturer part number, CAGE code, price per unit, quantity per system, NSN (if applicable), and Maintenance Replacement Rate 1 (MRR1) (breakage per thousand per year). Shall recommend range and depth of LRU spares sufficient to support two (2) year of system operations and provide a list of refreshed consumables and anticipated rate of consumption


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors Degree and six (6) years or more of related experience; years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of all areas of Logistics and Logistics product deliverables, including Provisioning, ILS Certifications, PMS, Technical Documentation, ILS Packages, CDMD-OA, PSD, DMSMS, and ECR process
  • Candidates must have technical, engineering, or logistics background involving hardware or software systems
  • Thorough knowledge of all ILS areas and products is required

DESIRED SKILLS:
  • Experience with hardware drawing analysis, BOM analysis, and inputs to ECRs desired
  • Understanding of hardware and software obsolescence desired
