Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degrees acceptable with reduced experience.
• Proficiency in Linux administration best practices required.
• Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or derivatives is advantageous.
• Understanding of licensing structures for Red Hat products preferred.
• Experience with scripting languages such as shell, bash, or Python is necessary.
• Proven management and deployment experience with centralized backup systems is essential.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide mid-tier to top-tier systems administration in a mixed operating environment.
• Maintain IT security posture and manage a rigorous patching schedule for all systems.
• Install software packages and maintain an asset inventory.
• Manage smart card authentication infrastructure effectively.
• Support both project and user activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Write and update system documentation regarding problem resolutions.
• Draft technical justifications for hardware and software procurement.
