Job Description Summary:Faegre Drinker has an opportunity for a Senior Legal Solutions Designer to work within our Technology & Innovation department in our New York City, Philadelphia, or Washington D.C. office. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to leading the design strategy and delivery for both internal initiatives and client engagements, turning user needs, business goals, and research insights into clear recommendations, strong design artifacts, and high-quality outcomes. This position will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of our clients.
Job Description:What you would do:- Embed for short stretches with practice groups and operational teams (e.g., Finance, Office Services, etc.) to watch how billable and operational work gets done, note the daily decisions people make, and find bottlenecks that occur both within the department and across the firm
- Uses Miro and Lucid to turn dense, manual workflows into clear, layered service blueprints that show where AI or automation fits
- Maps how information moves across systems, undocumented knowledge, and informal handoffs before designing potential new solutions
- Designs the future state by laying out the ideal workflow and marking exactly where automation or AI can remove repetitive manual steps
- Configures and tunes legal AI platforms (e.g., Harvey) to fit firm templates and protect confidential matter and workspaces
- Builds custom copilots, prompt libraries, and automated workflows in Microsoft Copilot Studio so AI works naturally inside Microsoft programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Designs the connections between the firm's document management system (iManage) and its AI tools so information flows cleanly between them
- Builds practical internal portals, dashboards, and utility tools from scratch using low-code platforms such as Retool, Power Apps, or Bubble
- Designs high-fidelity, clickable interfaces in Figma to earn partner buy-in before committing development resources
- Designs data handling into every tool so privileged and client-confidential information stays within approved systems and respects ethical walls and matter-level access controls
- Tracks how deployed tools are used, study adoption data, and run feedback loops to find where people struggle or stop using a tool
- Sets and documents shared UI and design standards so every tool the program builds or buys feels consistent
- Provides day-to-day oversight of direct reports
- Special projects and other duties as assigned

The anticipated initial annual salary range for someone who is hired into this position is $160,000 - $183,000.
Actual initial salary may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location where the position is filled, in all cases consistent with applicable law. This is an exempt role and the initial salary range listed above is just one component of Faegre Drinker's total compensation and benefits package for professional staff, which includes, but is not limited to, a discretionary bonus; life, health, accident, and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.
What is required:- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, or a related discipline, or equivalent years of related professional experience.
- At least five years of experience in Product Design, Interaction Design, Service Design, or Legal Design, ideally within enterprise software, consulting, or a professional services environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading user research, discovery sessions, stakeholder workshops, and design sprints.
- Expert-level capability in Miro or Lucid (Lucidchart/Lucidspark) to facilitate live workshops and design complex service blueprints.
- High proficiency in Figma for rapid wireframing, high-fidelity UI design, and interactive prototyping.
- Proven ability to build functional internal tools using Retool, Microsoft Power Apps, Bubble, or equivalent low-code/no-code platforms
- Systems thinker who can quickly learn areas of law and distill complex legal concepts into clean, usable data structures
