Role Overview:Success Academy Charter Schools is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its highly collaborative Advisory Legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, dedicated attorney to grow and develop as an in-house generalist while contributing to a mission-driven organization committed to delivering excellent public education and supporting the growth and flourishing of its employees. Key Responsibilities:- Advise on legal questions touching all aspects of our operations, including expansion, compliance, charter management, and our day-to-day operations.
- Manage regulatory reporting to authorizers and government agencies.
- Support advocacy and lobbying efforts.
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements, using pragmatic business judgment and making appropriate risk determinations.
- Advise on data privacy issues.
- Conduct legal research and writing.

Requirements:- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school (or equivalent).
- Licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state, with admission to the New York Bar or eligibility for in-house qualification in New York.
- At least six + years of legal experience, including in-house at a fast-paced company, nonprofit, and/or BigLaw.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. This position is not bonus eligible.
Compensation Range
$155,000-$175,000 USD
