Plans, designs, and develops clear, engaging, performance-focused learning solutions that build practical risk capability across ERPM and the broader enterprise. Translates complex risk concepts, frameworks, expectations, and behaviours into accessible learning experiences that help employees apply risk-informed decision-making in their day-to-day work.

This role supports the ERPM Learning team’s mandate to strengthen risk culture, build foundational and role-specific capability, support talent development, and enable consistent application of enterprise risk expectations. The Senior Learning and Experience Designer partners closely with ERPM stakeholders, SMEs, senior leaders, and enterprise learning teams to assess needs, define learning objectives, design practical solutions, and measure learning effectiveness.

The role requires strong instructional design expertise, creative problem-solving, stakeholder management, and the ability to develop scenario-based, accessible, and measurable learning across multiple formats, including eLearning, workshops, job aids, facilitator guides, participant resources, simulations, and performance support tools.

    • Translates complex risk topics, frameworks, policies, procedures, and stakeholder requirements into clear, learner-friendly content and practical application activities.
    • Designs learning experiences that build practical ERPM and enterprise risk capability, including foundational risk knowledge, role-specific application, and leadership behaviours.
    • Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group by providing guidance on learning design challenges, assessing performance gaps, and recommending practical solutions.
    • Partners with SMEs, senior leaders, and business stakeholders to assess capability gaps, define learning outcomes, align on design direction, and validate learning content.
    • Influences and negotiates with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives and ensure alignment across groups.
    • Assists in the development of strategic plans and supports the execution of strategic initiatives, programs, and learning priorities.
    • Conducts analysis to scope project objectives, understand audience needs, resolve strategic issues, and provide insights and recommendations.
    • Defines learning objectives, tasks, activities, resource requirements, and detailed design structures.
    • Develops effective project plans to support the design and build of learning programs, curricula, and performance support solutions that address identified capability gaps.
    • Writes, storyboards, and edits learning and performance support interventions across a variety of formats and delivery methods.
    • Ensures learning solutions are instructionally sound and developed on time, within scope, within budget, and to quality standards.
    • Builds change management and communication plans that support readiness, stakeholder engagement, behaviour change, execution, evaluation, and sustainment.
    • Designs and develops solutions that advance human performance, drive business impact, and maintain a customer-focused mindset.
    • Reviews programs for effectiveness, considers industry trends and emerging learning technologies, recommends enhancements, and makes changes as required.
    • Builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and industry contacts to gather insights and best practices.
    • Participates in, or leads, multiple internal projects varying in size and complexity.
    • Provides specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support, exercising judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within established guidelines.
    • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

    Qualifications:

  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Adult Learning accreditation is required.
  • Knowledge of accessibility principles / practices and the implications for design and development - In-depth.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional methodologies, technology-enabled design and learning methods - In-depth.
  • Experience in the design and development of training for multiple delivery methods.
  • Strong knowledge of web development processes and familiarity with authoring tools - In-depth.

Salary:

$69,000.00 - $129,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
