Plans, designs, and develops clear, engaging, compelling learning and performance-focused solutions that enhance retention and knowledge transfer for Canadian Commercial Banking. Applies design expertise to create learning, performance-focused solutions and creative strategies that achieve visible and measurable improvements to individual and group performance, development, and/or productivity and business results. Works on a variety of projects, initiatives, and platforms/mediums to support of the execution of business strategies according to required timelines and budgets and quality output standards.
Advisory
- Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Acts as a trusted advisor and provides advice and guidance on design challenges, assesses performance gaps, and recommends solutions on principles, programs, approaches, and mediums.
- Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Breaks down strategic problems and analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
Strategy
- Designs and develops solutions that help advance human performance and drive business impact with a customer-focused mindset to ensure linkages to customer experience.
- Maintains an external network to understand the competitive landscape and keep abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and market trends.
- May network with industry contacts to gather and identify competitive insights and best practices.
- Reviews programs for effectiveness, considers industry trends, and recommends enhancements; makes changes as required.
Learning Design & Development
- Conducts design analysis, scopes project objectives, and analyzes target audience expectations.
- Defines learning objectives, describes tasks and activities, estimates resource requirements, and creates detailed design structures.
- Writes, storyboards, and edits learning and performance support interventions.
- Develops effective project plans to facilitate the building of learning programs and curriculum to close identified gaps.
- Ensures learning solutions are instructionally sound and developed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Communications & Change Management
- Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation, and sustainment of initiatives.
- Leads or participates in defining communication plans designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging and identifies appropriate distribution channels.
Operational Management
- Participates in the management of vendor relationships.
- Participates or acts as a lead on multiple internal projects varying in size and complexity.
Qualifications & Skills
- Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Adult Learning accreditation is required.
- Knowledge of accessibility principles/practices and the implications for design and development - In-depth
- Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional methodologies, technology-enabled design and learning methods – In-depth
- Experience in the design and development of training for multiple delivery methods.
- Strong knowledge of web development processes and familiarity with authoring tools - In-depth.

- Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Salaried
The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
