About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Market Risk Officer in the Prime Services Risk Management function in Enterprise Counterparty Risk Management (ECRM).

Prime Services Risk Management is responsible for the daily risk management, margining framework, risk assessment, and monitoring of counterparty credit risk generated by the Prime Services businesses. 

The successful candidate will be a key leader in the team, engaged in the management and oversight of portfolio risk, new business evaluation, margining framework and risk analysis.


In this role, you will:

  • Provide independent oversight of counterparty and market risk across Prime Services activities, partnering with business, sales, and operations teams to understand business strategies, key risk drivers, and emerging exposures.

  • Define, enhance, and communicate Prime Services risk metrics and methodologies, including exposure modeling, VaR, stress testing, margin analysis, and exposure analytics, to senior management and risk committees.

  • Maintain and strengthen risk governance frameworks, reporting processes, and procedures, collaborating with technology, data, and model governance teams to improve risk measurement and control effectiveness.

  • Represent Prime Services Risk in enterprise risk committees, stress testing forums, model governance reviews, new product approval processes, and other risk governance activities.

  • Coordinate risk oversight during market stress events and regulatory engagements, ensuring timely exposure assessments, escalation of material risks, senior-level communication, and support for regulatory examinations and internal audits.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of market risk, Capital Markets, securities industry, trading, or interest rate risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of hedge fund strategies and hedge fund portfolio analysis.

  • Strong experience in Prime Services Risk.

  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret, evaluate, and challenge risk models, stress‑testing methodologies, and margin frameworks.

  • Deep knowledge of counterparty credit risk, margin methodologies, stress testing, liquidity risk, and concentration risk management, with the ability to independently challenge risk-taking activities and risk frameworks.

  • Demonstrated experience with MSCI RiskMetrics.

  • Knowledge of RCSA (Risk and Control Self‑Assessment) frameworks.

·New York- New York Pay Range: $185,000.00- $300,000.00 USD Annually
