Description

As a Finance & Accounting Analyst at Liberty Mutual, you will be a key strategic partner to our innovative and growingExcess Casualty and Mobility Solutions underwriting teams. This role is central to driving business performance through robust financial reporting, planning, and analytics.

You will be responsible for the full scope of financial and operational reporting, planning, and forecasting. In this position, you will manage complex financial analysis reports and projects, leveraging strong data stewardship and analytics to provide strategic recommendations to the leadership of these market-facing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and enhance critical financial and operational reports, analyses, plans, and forecasts in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Act as a data steward for the teams, obtaining required data for analyses from appropriate internal (e.g., general ledger, loss warehouse) or external sources in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • Perform in-depth variance analyses (e.g., plan vs. actual, prior year, multi-year trends) and identify significant items requiring further investigation to support our underwriting partners.
  • Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of all reports and analyses by maintaining full documentation of recurring job duties, data sources, and assumptions.
  • Partner with a market-facing Excess Casualty underwriting team, providing financial insights that directly support their strategy and goals.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to processes, controls, and technology systems related to the functions being performed.
  • Perform follow-up investigations on financial or operational variances and suggest resolutions.

The actual internal level/grade for this role will depend on the candidate27s overall experience and skill level

  • Senior Financial Analyst: $77,300- $109,500. Annual FTO days (Flexible Time Off): 15
  • Lead Financial Analyst: $97,000 - $138,000. Annual FTO days (Flexible Time Off): 20
Qualifications
  • Bachelor`s degree (Finance or Accounting) required.
  • CPA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
  • Senior-Minimum of 3 years of finance experience.
  • Lead-Minimum of 5 years of finance experience.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results.
  • Communicates well with own team and across organizational boundaries to ensure the successful completion of shared goals.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and able to communicate issues and trends to senior management and other groups at the appropriate level of detail.
  • Solid understanding of Finance Tools and Analytical Methods.
