Summary

The Senior Lead Hardware Design Engineer works within cross-functional teams, including other designers, customers, manufacturing, and project leadership to ensure robust, high-quality product development. In this role, you will research and develop new electrical systems and circuits for various applications, capturing plans through detailed schematics and system specifications. You will be responsible for leading designs based on reviews (manufacturing, test, and reliability), simulating and validating systems, and providing technical support throughout the entire manufacturing process.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions in multiple domains.
  • Participate in project planning and scheduling.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to a team of engineers. May be a recognized expert ("go-to" person) in one or more technical areas.
  • Review, interpret, and negotiate customer requirements/specifications and provide customer feedback.
  • Lead the deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
  • Proactively promote industry best practices.
  • Manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
  • Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems.
  • Design, modify, and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica's needs.
  • Create designs in line with Celestica's procedures, regulations, and customer standards.
  • Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.
  • Solve complex problems.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
  • Recommend system modifications.
  • Create schematics, bills of materials, diagrams, and drawings.
  • Analyze and interpret data and information.
  • Create reports and documentation.


Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
