Full Job Description
OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a full time Senior Lead Electrical I&C Engineer for our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing department to join our team in our Chattanooga, TN, office. This business unit supports several market sectors including but not limited to industrial food & beverage, refining, power, and advanced biofuels markets. This full-Time position will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule and relocation will be considered.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Critically review the work of other engineers to determine accuracy and completeness.
  • Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
  • Work on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features.
  • Receive supervision and guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters
  • Receive direction on unusual conditions and developments.
  • Responsible for managing staff, schedules, budgets, planning, proposal development, and marketing.
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
  • Routinely interact with clients, vendors, officials, contractors and others.
  • Lead project meetings and make presentations.
  • Serve as the lead electrical engineer on projects, managing design from conception through construction administration.
  • Develop complex studies and solve high-level technical challenges.
  • Act as the Engineer of Record (EOR), overseeing full electrical designs including WQA/QC reviews, and signing off/stamping work.
  • Provide mentorship, reviews teamwork, and coordinates with other disciplines.
  • Lead client communication and present design concepts.
  • Guide project planning including scope, schedule and resource needs.
  • May serve as Discipline Representative.
  • Coordinate portions of overall assignments and review.
  • Analyze and approve the work of others.
  • Conceptual and detailed design of low voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, motor control systems, PLC/PAC, HMI's process equipment and instrumentation.
  • Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep knowledge of NEC and IEEE codes.
  • Strong ability to manage client relationships and project budgets.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Use advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, ISA, IEEE Regulatory Codes.
  • Expert on SKM Power*Tools modeling and analysis.
  • Familiar with NQA-1 requirements.
  • Experience in control valve sizing and specifying all types of temperature, pressure, and flow instrumentation.
  • Extensive knowledge of nuclear related design.
  • Subject matter expert.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an A.B.E.T accredited program required.
  • 12+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License required.
