JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Java Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering complex enterprise applications that support critical business and security initiatives within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role requires strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, and Graph Database technologies, with a focus on building scalable, high-performance, event-driven applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Agile environments, developing robust solutions, mentoring team members, and driving engineering excellence across the software development lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications that meet functional, non-functional, security, and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to story refinement, requirements analysis, and technical solution design activities.
• Participate in estimation, sprint planning, and Agile delivery processes.
• Perform proof-of-concept (POC) and spike development activities to evaluate new technologies and mitigate technical risks.
• Develop scalable, maintainable, and high-performing solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Graph Database technologies.
• Design and implement RESTful and SOAP-based services using JSON and XML.
• Develop and support event-driven architectures utilizing Apache Kafka and enterprise messaging platforms.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, Developers, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and enhance application architecture components, interfaces, and solution accelerators.
• Resolve technical challenges and provide guidance to development teams during implementation.
• Build and maintain automated unit, integration, regression, and performance test suites.
• Develop and support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Automate release processes and deployment activities to improve software delivery efficiency.
• Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior developers and promote software engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions to improve overall code quality and maintainability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on Java development experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience developing applications using:
o Core Java
o Spring Framework
o Spring Boot
• Extensive hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven messaging architectures.
• Experience working with Graph Databases, preferably TigerGraph.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Experience with the Spring ecosystem, including:
o Spring MVC
o Spring Integration
o Spring Batch
o Spring ORM
o RESTful Services
• Experience developing REST and SOAP web services using JSON and XML.
• Strong understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices architectures.
• Experience with cloud-based application development and deployment platforms.
• Strong experience with source control and configuration management tools such as:

• Experience working with:

o Test-Driven Development (TDD)

• Strong experience with NoSQL databases, preferably Cassandra.

• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced knowledge of Cassandra data modeling, optimization, and performance tuning.

• Experience supporting highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Experience within financial services organizations.
• Knowledge of fraud detection, fraud management, transaction monitoring, or credit-related systems.
• Experience supporting enterprise security or risk management applications.
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives.
