About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Java Developer with minimum of 6+ years of experience who can help the team prioritize, build, and ship the most impactful features to our customers. The ideal candidate is a technical professional who has deep understanding and hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and Docker.

Familiarity with RESTful web services, microservices, and database concepts (SQL/PLSQL, Oracle) to drive innovation and efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to impactful projects that align with the company's vision.

In this role, you will:
• Exposure to Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Familiarity with RESTful web services, microservices, and database concepts (SQL/PLSQL, Oracle).
• Knowledge of coding language and syntax, usage of functions and object-oriented patterns.
• Experience with Java/JEE development and exposure to Spring Boot frameworks
• Familiarity with Python or Unix scripting.
• Understanding of SQL / PL-SQL and relational database concepts (Oracle preferred).
• Exposure to RESTful APIs, GitLab, and Postman.
• Understanding of applicable technical systems and programming in a general sense.
• Ability to follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained and work on problems of limited scope.

Work model: Onsite

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position open to qualified applicants in Charlotte, NC, requesting 5 days at office per week. What you need to have to be considered:
• 6+ Years of proven experience.
• Required Skills: Java, Microservices, Spring boot, Oracle, Rest API, GitLab, Postman.
• Experience with tools such as Swagger, Postman, GitLab, and exposure to monitoring tools like Splunk or AppDynamics.

Salary and compensation:

The annual salary for this position will be between $60,000 to $115,000 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
