Overview:We are seeking a proactive, experienced IT Specialist to support our Microsoft 365 environment, with an immediate focus on leading CHT's SharePoint rollout. This role's first priority is to assume leadership of that project, re-engage stakeholders, build out department sites, and train site owners across CHT.
Beyond SharePoint, this position provides broader Microsoft 365 and general IT support (hardware, software, network, and systems) in a hybrid on-prem/cloud environment, working under the direction of the IS lead. CHT has complex data governance requirements, with healthcare, youth records, and donor payment information alongside traditional domains (HR, Finance, etc.), so a solid foundation in data governance best practices is a must.
We are currently recruiting for 1 Full-time Permanent Senior IT Specialist, SharePoint Administrator. This is a new position within the organization. Immediate Priority: SharePoint Project Ownership- Take ownership of the SharePoint rollout and drive it to completion
- Re-engage department stakeholders to identify needs and build project momentum
- Configure department SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and workflows
- Train site owners and end-users on platform use and best practices
- Establish intranet governance policies and site standards
- Integrate SharePoint with other business applications and systems
Responsibilities:SharePoint & Microsoft 365 Administration- Administer and maintain the SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environment (SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Outlook, MS Office)
- Coordinate data migrations, forms, and site/content creation and changes
- Manage document retention, archiving, and periodic content audits for data integrity
- Implement and maintain SharePoint security settings and ensure compliance with data governance regulations
- Monitor and optimize environment performance; troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Develop and maintain training materials and support documentation
General IT Support- Manage user accounts (creation, support, deactivation) and Active Directory
- Provide Tier 1/2 technical support for hardware, software, network, and desktop issues
- Monitor and maintain antivirus, backups, servers, and network infrastructure
- Support conference room A/V systems
- Use remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer) to troubleshoot user issues
- Maintain network documentation
- Assist the IS Lead with deployment of new IT systems and technology research
- Administer additional IT systems as adopted by the organization
Governance & Collaboration- Participate in continual improvement of IT standards, processes, and procedures
- Collaborate with external service providers and monitor helpdesk performance metrics
- Coordinate with country office IS personnel and leadership across cultures
Qualifications and Experience:- Bachelor's degree or technical training in Information Technology, plus 6+ years of experience in a similar role
- 3+ years of hands-on experience administering SharePoint
- 3+ years of IT support experience, with a focus on desktop and network troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking protocols, and wireless access points
- Experience with Enterprise Backup and Recovery systems
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft-based enterprise applications
- Familiarity with multi-domain environments and domain troubleshooting
- Solid foundation in data governance best practices, including handling of sensitive/regulated data
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent certification
- Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills; able to quickly learn new systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including under pressure
- Ability to work effectively across cultures and coordinate with international teams
Desired Skills- Mobile device management and troubleshooting
- Experience with cloud in general, Azure in particular
- Agentic AI experience
