Description

IFC's Strctred Prodcts Team (CPPSP), within the Clients & Prodcts department, is seeking to recrit a (Senior) Investment Officer with significant Bond expertise, crrent strctring and exection experience in debt capital markets and or strctred finance, to lead, grow and develop its bond investment bsiness in emerging markets.

The Bond Specialist will be primarily responsible for providing strctring and exection advice to IFC's investments in plain vanilla and thematic bonds (climate, social, impact, etc.) and other debt secrities (covered bonds, perpetals, project bonds, etc.) across all IFC indstry grops globally. Whilst the primary focs is on bond investments, the candidate is expected to also contribte to other prodcts within the Strctred Prodcts department as applicable. The position will also spport coordination across IFC's operational departments and indstries in relation to IFC's Bond investment program. The position will report to the Senior Manager, Strctred Prodcts.

Dties & Accontabilities:
• Lead the development and growth of IFC's Bond investment program, to achieve its objectives and ambitios plans for investment growth and development impact.
• Develop a consistent Bond investment approach across all IFC indstry grops (FIG, MAS, and INFRA) and regions.
• Develop a strong pipeline of good qality investment opportnities for IFC throgh anticipating market trends and employing sector/contry knowledge.
• Develop and maintain active relationship management with arrangers in mltiple jrisdictions and connect them with the relevant regional investment teams to explore collaboration opportnities.
• Develop frther Bond and Strctred Prodct offerings across sectors in FIG, MAS, and INFRA.
• Focs on adding vale to IFC's clients, advising clients on optimal capital market soltions, propose financing soltions to sector challenges, and achieve sstainable development impact.
• Participate in client/investors meetings pitching Bond and Strctred Prodcts.
• Work with key stakeholders (private and pblic) to define consltancy/advisory services.
• Evalate, strctre, and negotiate new transactions in order to make recommendations to IFC's management, inclding thematic bonds (impact, green, social), covered bonds, and MBSs.
• Review bond prospects terms and conditions and advise the investment team and credit on adeqacy of the covenants and deal strctre taking into accont any internal IFC gidelines or procedres, the natre of the client's bsiness, financial performance and market trends
• se strong negotiation skills to develop soltions and overcome impasses in straightforward and complex transactions.
• Work closely with and collaborate with IFC regional teams across indstries and operational departments as well as legal, syndications, reglatory, credit, and risk departments and teams, to provide project spport and bring in prodct knowledge, as needed.
• Spport portfolio teams across indstries in monitoring bond portfolios, develop monitoring processes and exit strategies, as need be.
• Develop and provide training and gidance to IFC investment teams on Bonds and Strctred Prodcts to enable growth and development of knowledge and expertise across all sectors and indstries.
• Collaborate with the WGB Knowledge Bank to establish priority areas for joint efforts and spport the Joint Capital Markets Program (J-CAP) in developing markets.
• Mentor and train jnior staff.
• Assist in other projects or strategy-related activities, as the need may arise.

Selection Criteria
• Master's degree in finance, economics, or other related areas. CFA wold be a pls.
• Minimm 8-1 years of experience in debt capital markets, with in-depth nderstanding of indstry trends in capital markets.
• Solid track record and exposre to debt capital markets transactions across diverse sectors in emerging markets.
• Ability to interact directly and independently with the senior management of potential clients, of financial and technical partners as well as senior government officials.
• Strong track record of negotiating both plain vanilla and more complex transactions.
• Experience working with syndicate team on all aspects of the deal life cycle, inclding book bilding, docmentation, road show, pricing, exection, hedging, and selling.
• Backgrond in liability management, corporate finance, or credit analysis. Demonstrates an ability to nderstand and analyze client's bsiness and financials.
• Deep knowledge of financial services (DCM, by and sell, infrastrctre, and treasry) and comfortable discssing indstry and market trends, technology innovation, and reglations.
• Excellent bsiness jdgment and strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify isses and present creative, practical soltions.
• Ability to work with teams within IFC, WBG, and other DFIs to mobilize private sector investors and increase financing to emerging markets and bild and develop collaborative relationships across indstries.
• Great team player, able to mentor and train more jnior staff.
• Capacity to deal with conflicting priorities and deliver high-qality work on schedle; facility to work sccessflly in mlticltral teams and across bondaries.
• Excellent oral and written presentation skills in English are reqired; additional major langage sch as French or Spanish desirable.
• Willingness to travel.
