Overview:

Siemens is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Sr Industrial Engineer to oversee and drive critical projects within the organization aimed at cost reduction, throughput improvement, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering, with expertise in managing operational excellence projects, leading lean initiatives, and sustaining daily management systems. This role is crucial in optimizing the operational processes and contributing to the overall business goals of Siemens.

Responsibilities:
  • Throughput & Capacity Improvement: Increase breaker output through bottleneck elimination, line balancing, capacity planning, and workflow optimization to maximize production performance.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement: Lead Kaizen events and Lean initiatives using Value Stream Mapping, 5S, standard work, and waste elimination to drive sustainable operational improvements.
  • Productivity & Cost Reduction Projects: Improve labor productivity and reduce operating costs through time studies, labor standards, process optimization, and waste reduction.
  • Quality & First Pass Yield Improvement: Improve First Pass Yield by reducing defects, scrap, and rework through standardization, root cause problem solving, and error-proofing initiatives.
  • Daily Management Systems (OpsEdge): Implement and sustain Daily Management Systems, KPI management, visual controls, and problem-solving routines to improve accountability and performance.
  • Breaker Manufacturing Process Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in breaker manufacturing by developing best practices, improving processes, and supporting production readiness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Quality, Logistics, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
  • Data Analytics & Reporting: Develop dashboards and performance metrics that provide actionable insights to improve throughput, productivity, quality, and cost performance
  • Training & Development: Coach and develop employees and leaders in Lean methodologies, standard work, continuous improvement, and Daily Management System practices.
  • Health, Safety & Ergonomics: Promote a safe work environment through ergonomic improvements, risk reduction initiatives, and compliance with Siemens safety standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience conducting time studies, labor analysis, capacity analysis, and process improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated success improving throughput, productivity, labor efficiency, or manufacturing output.
  • Experience leading Lean Manufacturing initiatives including Kaizen events, 5S, standard work development, and waste elimination.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience utilizing manufacturing KPIs to identify opportunities and drive operational performance improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in breaker manufacturing, electrical products manufacturing, or high-volume assembly operations.
  • Experience supporting Daily Management Systems (DMS) or Lean Operating Systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience improving First Pass Yield (FPY), reducing defects, and driving quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with SAP, Power BI, Minitab, or other manufacturing analytics tools.
  • Experience with labor standards, line balancing, and capacity modeling.
  • Experience implementing ergonomic and safety improvements in manufacturing environments.

The pay range for this position is $82,538 - $119,494 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
