You'll design facility layouts in AutoCAD, model capacity and material flow, and plan the workstations, lines, and equipment installs that let us ramp to rate. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for someone who has laid out and optimized real factories and wants to shape ours from the ground up. This position reports to the Manufacturing leadership team.
What you'll be doing:- Own the HQ factory layout - develop and maintain facility layouts in AutoCAD as production scales from prototype to rate.
- Design end-to-end process and material flow across all production areas - antenna, bus assembly, spacecraft assembly & test, and boom manufacturing.
- Model capacity, takt, and line balance to plan equipment, workstations, and headcount for each production line.
- Plan and execute line moves, equipment installs, and facility readiness - footprint, utilities, safety clearances, and move-in logistics.
- Design workstation layouts, ergonomics, and 5S standards with our manufacturing, automation, and controls engineers.
- Optimize material flow from receiving to lineside - partnering with planning and shipping & receiving on warehouse and logistics.
- Run time studies and use floor data to drive throughput, space-utilization, and cost improvements.
What you will bring to this role:- 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience in a complex production environment.
- Expert AutoCAD skills for factory and line layout - this role owns the facility drawing set.
- Strong process-flow mapping, capacity analysis, line balancing, and time-study fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of Lean principles - value-stream mapping, 5S, and standard work.
- Hands-on and floor-forward - comfortable working across design, manufacturing, and operations to remove constraints.
- BS in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related Engineering, or equivalent.
Extra points for the following:- Aerospace, automotive, or electronics high-rate manufacturing background.
- Discrete-event simulation experience (FlexSim, AnyLogic, or similar).
