Partner with the bestAs a Senior Software Engineer II, you will collaborate with development and site reliability teams in building and managing mission-critical critical lab infrastructure services and environments for the Akamai Connected Cloud platform. You'll contribute directly to scaling our infrastructure and management tools driving development and testing improvements felt throughout our entire organization.
As a Software Engineer Senior II, you will be responsible for:
- Developing the deployment stack responsible for building new test datacenters on the Lab Platform.
- Designing monitoring solutions with new and existing observability tooling to ensure the health of our Lab Services.
- Identifying bottlenecks with deployment and configuration frameworks, proposing solutions that improve performance and reliability.
- Collaborating with senior engineers, architects and subject matter experts on solutions that increase the speed and confidence in which they ship products.
- Working on a highly collaborative global team that values feedback and open communication
Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:
- Have 5+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience.
- Possess extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation and related tooling (e.g., Terraform, SaltStack, Ansible).
- Have demonstrated background using Python and RESTful API frameworks, including Flask and Django
- Possess experience in container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Nomad and dev-environment tooling (Kind, Docker Compose, Tilt).
- Be comfortable working with relational databases such as MySQL or Postgres.
CompensationAkamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from CA$120,400 - CA$216,600/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
