What You'll Do

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior HR Operations Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of employee data, supporting HR operational processes, and delivering exceptional service to employees and stakeholders across the organization.

HR Operations & HRIS Management
  • Manage high-volume, accurate HR transactions within the Firm's Human Capital Management (HCM) system, PeopleSoft.
  • Process complex employee lifecycle changes, including new hires, rehires, promotions, transfers, compensation updates, benefits enrollments, and terminations.
  • Maintain employee demographic and personal data, ensuring the highest standards of data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Develop deep knowledge of PeopleSoft functionality, workflows, and HR business processes to support effective issue resolution and operational excellence.
  • Support payroll-related processes and adhere to critical payroll deadlines.
  • Assist with annual and cyclical HR initiatives, including onboarding programs and benefits administration activities.

Reporting & Compliance
  • Generate HR reports and queries to support operational and business needs.
  • Conduct data audits and validations across HR, Payroll, and Benefits systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, employee records, and supporting audit materials.

Process Improvement & Team Support
  • Support testing, upgrades, system enhancements, and implementation activities within PeopleSoft.
  • Progressively develop into a subject matter expert for assigned HR Operations processes and HRIS functionality.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members and, over time, serve as a trusted resource for system processes, best practices, and data governance standards.
  • Conduct quality reviews of HR transactions to ensure compliance with established procedures and data standards.
  • Manage employee inquiries through the HR Operations shared inbox, providing timely and professional support.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the overall employee experience.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR Operations, HRIS, or HR data management experience.
  • Strong understanding of employee lifecycle processes and HR data administration.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
    • Pivot Tables
    • VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs
    • Data analysis and reporting
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms; PeopleSoft experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Compensation

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in Chicago. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary. Compensation Range:

Chicago: $76,000 - $95,000
