Job Description

The Senior Manager of Human Resources is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources department within an assigned area. This may include recruitment, training, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance with employment laws and regulations. The Senior Manager of Human Resources typically supervises a team of HR professionals and works closely with senior management to develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization's goals and objectives. Additionally, they may be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures related to employee relations and ensuring a positive and productive work environment for all employees.

Essential Functions
• Fully understands all aspects of the operations within their assigned area of responsibility.
• Supports recruitment and selection processes to ensure competent and capable new hires.
• Supports the effective implementation and monitoring of the Division's EEO plans and policies.
• Investigates employee complaints and works with management to achieve an acceptable resolution.
• Facilitates one-on-one employee interviews and communicates employee comments and employment issues to members of management as is appropriate.
• Acts as a change agent, facilitating changes as required by new initiatives.
• Works with managers and supervisors to identify obstacles and issues to improve organization effectiveness and develops strategies to remove those obstacles and concerns. Works with managers on ways to improve their managerial effectiveness through a variety of techniques and strategies.
• Identifies areas and concerns over management and technical staffing requirements to meet business plans and strengthen management and human resources in the Division.
• Identifies issues and concerns to address employee satisfactions and develops strategies and interventions to increase employee satisfaction..
• Develops strategies to measure employee and team performance and effectiveness in meeting or exceeding their goals and objectives.
• Reviews and recommends strategies and new concepts to reward and recognize performance of teams and people within the Division.
• Advises managers and supervisors on strategies and solutions to a wide variety of organizational problems and concerns.
• Assists managers with succession planning and talent pool development; identifies key position backups and serves as corporate contact for internal candidates.
• Advises managers on strategies and techniques to develop people (technical and management skills) in the organization.
• Assumes employee relations responsibilities to assist employees and managers on problem solving.
• Assumes project leadership on a variety of Human Resources programs focusing on organization effectiveness.
• Works with managers and supervisors on annual salaried planning program to ensure employees are rewarded for performance and contributions.

Responsibilities

Education
• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or equivalent work experience is required.
• HR certification is preferred.

Experience
• 7 plus years of progressive responsibilities of Human Resources
• Some working knowledge of aggregate business is an advantage.

• Represents the Division on assigned Company-wide project teams.
• Coordinate with the Legal Department on labor and employee relation issues to ensure legal compliance in any, and all, situations.
• Overnight travel may be required.
