Job Title: Senior HR Generalist (Benefits)
Location: Washington, D.C.; Hybrid (3 Days in office, after 90 Days in-person)
Status: Full-time; Exempt
Reports to: Head of Human Resources
Typical Work Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday

Monex USA is seeking a Senior HR Generalist (Benefits) to join our growing Human Resources team. This role serves as the organization's subject matter expert for employee benefits administration and provides operational support to the Head of Human Resources across key HR programs and processes. This role partners closely with the Head of Human Resources, Accounting, external vendors, managers, and employees to ensure the effective administration of benefits programs and HR processes across the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities

Benefits Administration (Subject Matter Expert)
  • Administer employee benefits programs across the U.S. and Canada, including enrollments, life events, terminations, and leave programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for benefits-related inquiries and issue resolution.
  • Lead annual open enrollment and daily employee benefits communications and adjustments such as qualifying life events, and terminations.
  • Partner with brokers and vendors to maintain and enhance benefits offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable benefits regulations, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and related requirements.
  • Administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, parental leave, and applicable state leave programs.

HR Operations and Compliance
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and personnel record management.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and employee records.
  • Assist with HR policies, audits, reporting, and compliance-related activities.
  • Support HR projects and process improvement initiatives as directed by the Head of Human Resources.

Payroll Support
  • Track and communicate employee changes impacting payroll in partnership with Finance.
  • Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and employee payroll inquiries.
  • Support bonus, commission, and compensation-related updates.
  • Help identify and resolve payroll-related discrepancies.

Employee Support & HR Administration
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding benefits, HR processes, and general HR inquiries.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee record maintenance.
  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, employee communications, and engagement activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience with significant responsibility for benefits administration and HR operations.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employee benefits programs and related compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Canadian employees and benefits programs.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience with Namely, Workday, ADP, UKG, or similar HRIS platforms.

Compensation
  • Salary is commensurate with experience. The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000, pending experience, with a 10% annual bonus.
