Introduction to the job

As our Senior HR Director for HMI in San Jose, you will help shape the organization behind some of the world's most advanced technology. In this role, you will partner closely with senior business leaders to translate strategy into a people agenda that strengthens leadership, builds organizational capability, and enables long-term growth.

You will join a highly visible leadership role at the intersection of business, innovation, and transformation. Your work will directly influence how teams grow, how leaders lead, and how the organization evolves to meet future business needs.

Role and responsibilities

In this role, you will serve as a strategic Head of HR for HMI. You will align business priorities with people strategy, guide senior stakeholders through complexity, and ensure HR programs, talent decisions, and organizational choices support both business performance and employee growth. You will lead a team of HR Business Partners across geographies and act as a trusted advisor to senior executives in a complex international environment.

  • Shape and execute the people strategy for HMI in alignment with business priorities and the broader ASML people vision.
  • Lead and develop an HR team across geographies, creating a collaborative, high-performing, and psychologically safe environment.
  • Partner with senior leaders to translate business strategy into workforce, talent, and organizational priorities.
  • Lead succession planning, leadership development, and talent strategies for critical and executive roles.
  • Guide organizational design and change initiatives to support growth, innovation, and evolving business needs.
  • Drive high-impact HR programs, projects, and core people processes across a complex international environment.
  • Use data and insights to support strong people decisions, identify trends, and improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Advise leaders on employee relations, policy application, and organizational challenges with clarity, sound judgment, and strong organizational sensitivity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.


Education and experience
  • Master's degree in human resource management, business administration, psychology, organizational behavior, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in a complex, global organization.
  • Strong experience partnering with senior business leaders and influencing executive-level decisions.
  • Broad HR expertise across talent, organizational design, leadership development, employee relations, and change management.
  • Strong business acumen, including understanding of strategy, organizational dynamics, and the technology landscape; P&L knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience in a technology, engineering, or innovation-driven environment is strongly preferred.
  • International HR leadership experience is preferred, including experience leading globally dispersed HR teams.

Other information

This role is based in San Jose, California, and will require travel within the US and internationally. You will typically operate as a member of the Business Leadership Team and partner with senior management stakeholders across multiple countries and regions. The role reports to the Global Head of HR for the Business Line.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
$237,000-355,500

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
