Full Job Description
What You'll Be Doing
  • Designing the future: Lead transportation design projects for key agencies, including PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC).
  • Getting technical: Get hands-on with roadway geometrics, 3D modeling, cross-section development, traffic control, signing, pavement markings, and right-of-way plans.
  • Collaborating closely: Work side-by-side with our client management teams, engineers across different disciplines, and our marketing squad.
  • Leading the charge: Keep the design team on track to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget. You'll also help develop specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Mentoring the team: Share your knowledge and coach our incredibly talented junior civil design staff.
  • Growing our business: Play an active role on our Client Service Teams by driving proposal development, building client relationships, and actively participating in the industry to advance both STV's growth and your own career.

What You Bring to the Table
  • The Basics: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (a Master's degree is an awesome bonus).
  • The License: Your Professional Engineer (PE) license is required (a Pennsylvania PE is highly preferred).
  • The Experience: Roughly 10-15 years of hands-on experience as a highway engineer.
  • The Agency Know-How: Solid experience working with PennDOT and/or PTC. (If you also have experience with New Jersey, New York, or other authorities, that's a huge plus!)
  • The Tech Skills: Proficiency in MicroStation, Bentley software (OpenRoads), and Microsoft Office, along with a strong familiarity with AASHTO design standards.
  • The Project Chops: The ability to determine scopes of work, prepare estimates for highway tasks, and oversee quality control.
  • The People Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, whether you're interfacing with client technical staff or coaching a junior engineer.

Compensation Range:
$132,708.77 - $151,667.16
