Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a hardware design technical environment, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience with enterprise-class hardware systems design and data center engineering, server, storage, and networking products.
  • Experience with FPGA/CPLD design and interfacing with other disciplines, including software, signal integrity, thermal, and mechanical.
  • Experience in collecting and organizing details to reproduce results and explain the outcomes.
  • Experience solving system issues, technical innovation, and managing technical roadmaps.


About the job

As a Senior Hardware Engineer in the Board and System Design team, you will work on ML/AI hardware systems projects to craft the solutions for current and future data center deployments. You will work with product teams to ensure that their goals are met with your systems. You will work with Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC), Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), Software, and Verification teams to ensure proper verification of features in your systems. You will work with the manufacturing teams to ensure that your designs are manufactured and ready for volume production. You will work with the field teams to support systems that are deployed in the data center.Our Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team designs and builds the
hardware and software technologies that power all of Google's services. Our computational challenges are complex and unique, enabled by cutting-edge custom hardware designed and made in-house. As a hardware engineer, you will design and build the systems that are the heart of the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You will see those systems from concept all the way through to high-volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers, affecting millions of Google users.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
