Senior Hardware Compliance Engineer

We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Hardware Compliance Engineer to join our team.

Location: Ottawa, ON
Work Arrangement: On-site

Responsibilities
  • Become a key contributing member of the design team to meet EMI/EMC goals on avionics products.
  • Analyze requirements, provide compliance review and identify risk.
  • Establish internal lab capabilities to de-risk designs for formal compliance testing.
  • Perform de-risking activities, may be internal or offsite.
  • Coordinate and witness formal compliance activities, typically at external offsite laboratories.
  • Provide input to design and reviews in support of successful compliance.
  • Generate reports to capture tests performed and summarize results.
  • Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.

Qualification:
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in hardware compliance, EMI/EMC testing, and hands on lab testing for products that meet relevant standards in Industrial, MIL, or Aerospace electronic design.
  • Works directly with the design teams to achieve designs optimized for EMI/EMC performance targeting signal filtering, grounding, mechanical chassis features for best design practice.
  • A strong understanding and familiarity with relevant industry standards which include:
    • EMI/C to MIL-STD-461 and DO-160
    • Laboratory Equipment: Spectrum Analyzers, LISN, Oscilloscopes, Antennas, Power Supplies
    • Cable design and assembly techniques for EMI/C
