About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Fraud & Claims Operations Consultant to join our Line of Credit Fraud Investigations team. In this role, you will lead complex fraud investigations, analyze financial and transactional activity, and determine appropriate claim outcomes. You will play a critical role in protecting customers and the bank by identifying fraud trends, assessing risk, and making sound investigative decisions.

As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with partners across multiple lines of business to gather, validate, and assess information needed to support thorough and well-documented investigations. You will also provide guidance and feedback to internal and external partners to promote consistent, effective fraud claim resolution practices.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead complex Line of Credit fraud investigations, including investigative research, root cause analysis, and case resolution recommendations.
  • Analyze transactional, customer, and operational data to identify fraud patterns, trends, anomalies, and emerging risks.
  • Evaluate fraud claims and investigative findings to determine appropriate outcomes and support loss mitigation efforts.
  • Conduct fraud risk assessments, impact assessments, and control evaluations to identify opportunities for process improvement and risk reduction.
  • Lead fraud incidents from identification through containment, ensuring appropriate controls and mitigation strategies are implemented.
  • Partner with claimants, Financial Crimes teams, line of business partners, and other fraud teams to gather, validate, and analyze information critical to investigations.
  • Escalate investigative findings, as appropriate, to support recovery efforts and minimize financial losses.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to develop and enhance controls that mitigate fraud risk and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Lead or contribute to key initiatives, projects, and process improvement efforts while leveraging a strong understanding of fraud operations and business processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by mentoring team members, sharing technical knowledge, and acting as an escalation point for complex cases.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and recommendations to management and business partners regarding fraud trends, risks, and investigative outcomes.
  • Handle customer and business partner interactions, including claimant and identity theft victim communications, with professionalism and empathy.
  • Support operational reporting and other departmental activities as needed.

Required Qualifications:
• 4+ years of Fraud, Investigations of Fraud, Claim Transactions or Policy Violations, Risk Management, or Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience conducting fraud investigations, claims reviews, operational investigations, or risk assessments.
  • Working knowledge of Wells Fargo Home Equity and Fraud systems, including Shaw, Prevent, LexisNexis, and the UAR Portal.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex information and make sound, risk-based decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior leaders and business partners.
  • Demonstrated success partnering and collaborating across departments to achieve business objectives and drive effective outcomes.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across multiple lines of business.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in gathering, validating, and analyzing information from multiple sources to support investigative findings and recommendations.

The consultant will conduct comprehensive investigations, analyze findings, and provide recommendations to either validate or decline fraud claims or provide feedback to both internal and external team members.

The position requires strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to senior leaders and stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization. The individual will collaborate extensively with partners across various lines of business to gather, corroborate, and assess information critical to fraud investigations, ensuring thorough and well-supported case outcomes.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.$75,000.00 - $114,000.00
