State Street’s Technology Business Office within GTS Management is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior FinOps Analyst to strengthen financial accountability, cost transparency, and optimization across our cloud and AI environments.

The successful candidate will combine cloud cost management expertise with strong financial analysis, data, and reporting skills. They will help mature enterprise FinOps capabilities by improving data quality and visibility, forecasting spend, managing commitments, identifying savings opportunities, and promoting cost-aware engineering.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Monitor cloud and AI consumption and use FinOps platforms to maintain financial health across multiple environments.

• Develop and maintain reliable, automated ingestion of cloud, AI, SaaS, and related financial data from internal and external sources.

• Deliver automated, self-service dashboards and executive reporting that provide a consistent view of costs, usage, trends, variances, and key performance indicators.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning by integrating cost, usage, and business data into trusted reporting frameworks.

• Identify and drive optimization opportunities through rightsizing, rate analysis, resource efficiency, usage trends, and cost-saving recommendations.

• Manage cloud financial commitments, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and contractual commitments; validate rates and monitor utilization and compliance.

• Design and automate anomaly detection, spend alerts, and financial controls to identify risks and opportunities early.

• Track AI consumption metrics, including model utilization, token usage, and associated costs, and support timely allocation to business owners and cost centers.

• Develop allocation, showback, chargeback, unit economics, and FinOps KPI methodologies that connect technology spend to products, services, and business outcomes.

• Maintain the reliability, scalability, and operational integrity of FinOps data pipelines, platforms, and reporting solutions.

• Implement governance controls and policy enforcement to promote financial accountability, prevent unauthorized spending, and support audit and compliance requirements.

• Provide cost estimates, onboarding guidance, and financial decision support for new cloud and AI initiatives.

• Translate complex technical and financial information into actionable recommendations for engineering teams, business stakeholders, and senior leaders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, finance, accounting, or a related field.

• At least five years of combined experience in Cloud FinOps and finance roles within a large, complex enterprise.

• Strong knowledge of FinOps principles, cloud financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and financial analysis.

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience creating cost, savings, and executive reporting dashboards.

• Experience with AWS and Azure and with data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.

• Experience building or supporting data ingestion, cataloging, analytics, and reporting frameworks.

• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders.

• Ability to build productive cross-functional relationships and operate effectively in a lean, agile, fast-paced organization.

• Cloud practitioner certification.

Preferred experience

• Experience with GCP, AI/ML platforms, and enterprise SaaS cost management.

• Proficiency with cloud cost management and FinOps tooling.

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization platforms.

• Knowledge of cloud commitment management, optimization techniques, governance frameworks, and shared-services allocation methodologies.

• Demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn emerging cloud, data, and AI technologies quickly.
