Description

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing internal and external financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in monthly close, quarterly and annual reporting, audit coordination, and continuous improvement of financial reporting processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Draft and maintain financial statement disclosures, footnotes, and accounting memos.
  • Research, interpret, and implement new or complex accounting standards.
  • Perform analytical review of financial results, including variance and trend analysis.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, and Accounting teams on financial impacts and reporting accuracy.
  • Assist with coordination and support of external audits and internal audit requests.
  • Coordinate annual tax filings with external consulting firm.
  • Complete payroll and benefit accounting entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare various monthly and quarterly tax filings as required.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls and documentation to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Mentor and review work of junior analysts or accountants as applicable.
  • Contribute to department and organization special projects.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory accounting principles (SAP) required.

Knowledge of statutory accounting principles or insurance industry experience preferred. Experience working with Power BI preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or progress toward CPA preferred.

LICENSES

Valid Driver's License required.
