This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

We are seeking a motivated, analytical, and critical-thinking Finance Business Partner to serve as a senior financial analyst within Blue Origin's Engines business unit. This role sits at the intersection of strategic finance and operational execution, making it central to how we build and fly rockets affordably and reliably. In this key role, you will collaborate directly with program leadership while partnering with stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, and material planning to drive financial excellence and program success.

Day to day, you will deliver comprehensive cost analysis, variance explanations, and strategic guidance to Engines program leadership, developing financial models and scenario analyses that inform critical program decisions across the full cost structure. A strong understanding of how operational activity translates into financial outcomes is essential, serving as the lens through which you'll connect material demand, procurement timing, workforce planning, and production activity to program financials. You will establish and maintain metrics that track program financial health throughout the full program lifecycle, while building tools and reporting capabilities that enable proactive, forward-looking financial management. You'll also leverage cutting-edge AI and analytics tools to design innovative approaches to financial modeling and forecasting that are as ambitious as the rockets we build.

To thrive in this role, you will bring strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience, paired with a broad understanding of cost drivers spanning direct materials, procurement strategies, subcontracts, labor, and supply chain trade-offs and the analytical rigor to build insight-driven analyses that influence real decisions. Above all, we are looking for a skilled storyteller who can translate complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives for both financial and non-financial audiences, someone who navigates ambiguity with confidence in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

This role is available on-site in Kent, Washington with relocation provided.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Serve as the Engines financial focal for material procurement impacts and forecasting; tracking performance, supporting improvement initiatives, and providing actionable insights to drive outcomes
  • Lead program financial management including budget tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, and end-of-month business rhythm deliverables
  • Build and maintain financial models supporting cost-benefit analysis, risk and opportunity identification, and recovery plan development
  • Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial and metric report outs for Program and Finance Leadership, including executive-level analysis for key decision making
  • Perform data mining and analytics across multiple platforms (Databricks, Redshift, SQL, Python, Claude) to support business analytics and KPI generation
  • Oversee financial risk assessment and mitigation strategies across the engines portfolio, driving continuous cost improvement through data-driven recommendations
  • Pioneer new financial methodologies leveraging AI and advanced analytics tools; mentor junior analysts and coordinate workstreams across finance projects

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or STEM field
  • 8+ years of financial and business analytics experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a self-motivator
  • Ability to develop pricing models based on multiple inputs including market conditions, competition, and other constraints
  • Strong analytical skill set and high attention to detail
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel Power Query, Power Pivot, data mining and SQL/Python
  • Experience in helping business leaders meet financial targets and deliver results
  • Understanding of underlying business processes and the impact of financial decisions
  • Strong skills in running meetings and preparing executive-level presentations
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
