This position is Onsite. Our office is located at 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN.
The
Senior Financial Analyst role will serve as a key finance liaison, who will report to the Director of Optum Health Finance and work in close partnership with Optum Health FP&A business teams, controllership, and Optum Corporate. This role will support the financial planning and analysis process through month-end close, quarterly earnings, forecast, long-range modeling, and strategic partnership to help senior leadership develop, execute, and manage the growth and profitability of the business. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights that support operational and financial decision-making.
This position is full time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.
Primary Responsibilities:- Support consolidated financial planning and analysis for Optum Health, including revenue, medical cost, SG&A, and earnings
- Prepare meaningful, decision enabling financial reports for senior management that clearly articulate key drivers and key takeaways
- Assist controllership with month-end close activities
- Support the production of annual operating plans, long-range forecasts, and board of director materials, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational priorities
- Develop and maintain financial reports to clearly communicate actual results, forecasted performance, and variances to plan, forecast and budget
- Produce clear, well-formatted reports and presentations that communicate a clear, compelling message for management
- Continually develop and refine internal financial modeling and process improvements

Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Finance OR Accounting
- 1+ years of experience with performing financial and variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and preparing financial reports
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
- Ability to work any of our full time, shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Preferred Qualifications:- Essbase and / or Smartview experience
- Large, matrix organization experience
Soft Skills:- Analytical, quantitative, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated to work independently and also be a team player
- Demonstrated ability to work with others and communicate effectively (both verbal and written)
- Ability to solve problems including multiple priorities and research conflicting and / or inaccurate data
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
