About the Opportunity:

Provides senior financial analysis, planning, and decision support for technology and software development organizations. Leads annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and month-end variance reporting for operating expense, capital investment, and product/project spend; develops business cases and ROI analyses; and partners with technology leaders (Engineering, Product, IT, and Product Management) to improve financial performance and investment outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead monthly close, variance analysis, and performance reporting for technology and product cost centers. (budget vs. forecast vs. prior year), highlighting key drivers and actionable insights.
  • Partner with Engineering/IT/Product leaders to develop annual budgets and forecasts for run-the-business and change-the-business investment (labor, contractors, vendors, cloud, software, tools, and services).
  • Identify the underlying reasons for gaps in areas such as headcount, utilization, delivery speed, vendor usage, cloud consumption, and scope changes, then work with business owners to implement solutions.
  • Develop business cases and ad hoc analyses for technology initiatives; communicate recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Drive improved spend efficiency and value realization across the technology portfolio through standard metrics, cost transparency, and ongoing benefits tracking.
  • Leverage financial and operational systems to improve forecasting accuracy and automate reporting (e.g., ERP, planning tools, BI dashboards); establish data definitions and controls for technology spend.


Additional Duties, Skills, and Qualifications
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or business partnering; experience supporting technology, engineering, IT, and/or software development teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP/planning and reporting tools (Oracle/Hyperion); ability to automate and improve recurring reporting.
  • Familiarity with LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) for data analysis and AI-driven improvements.
  • Ability to organize, interpret, and draw conclusions from large datasets and present insights clearly to both technical and non-financial audiences.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; able to lead financial discussions, challenge assumptions, and drive decisions in cross-functional forums.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with ambiguity and iterating with fast-changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills; may supervise, coach, or provide work direction to lower-level staff.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and with Agile delivery and/or technology portfolio governance processes.
  • Self-motivated with strong ownership; able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Professional presence with the ability to interact with internal/external stakeholders (including senior leaders) in a clear, credible, and service-oriented manner.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance or related discipline
