Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in providing strategic and operational financial support across Mosaic's Canadian and U.S. client portfolios. Reporting to the Finance Director, this position partners closely with client account teams, accounting, and finance leaders across Acosta Group to drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and business growth.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted business partner, delivering insightful financial analysis, supporting forecasting and planning activities, identifying opportunities to improve profitability, and helping to develop scalable processes that enable continued growth. This role offers broad exposure across multiple business functions and the opportunity to influence decision-making through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary finance partner for assigned client portfolios, providing financial oversight and strategic support.
  • Prepare, analyze, and communicate monthly financial results, including revenue, margin, and profitability performance at both client and project levels.
  • Develop and maintain quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range financial planning models.
  • Partner with operations and client service teams to identify risks, opportunities, and trends impacting financial performance.
  • Lead pricing analysis and financial modeling to support contract renewals, client negotiations, and new business opportunities.
  • Identify and recommend initiatives that drive cost efficiencies, improve margins, and enhance overall business performance.
  • Design, document, and implement process improvements to strengthen financial controls, reporting accuracy, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist with system implementations, testing, process enhancements, and user training initiatives.
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses and executive-level reporting to support strategic business decisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, accounting, client service, and operational teams throughout Acosta Group.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications-Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification is considered a strong asset.
  • 2-4+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, accounting, financial planning, or business partnering roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, improving, and documenting business processes.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, financial software, billing platforms, or related business applications.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUPs, INDEX/MATCH, PivotTables, and complex financial modeling.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence and reporting tools is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying financial concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate across cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience within an agency, marketing services, professional services, or third-party logistics (3PL) environment is considered an asset.
