Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide expert financial management and resource planning support for a complex Department of Defense (DoD) program. This position is responsible for budget formulation, execution, justification, financial analysis, and funding documentation to ensure compliance with federal and DoD financial management policies. The successful candidate will support program leadership by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing required budget documentation, and ensuring audit readiness across all financial activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive resource management support for program budget formulation, justification, execution, and financial planning.
  • Develop, coordinate, and submit required Department of Defense and federal budget documentation in accordance with established timelines.
  • Monitor funding execution and financial performance to ensure compliance with applicable fiscal laws, regulations, and organizational guidance.
  • Prepare funding documents, financial reports, budget exhibits, and other supporting documentation for leadership review and decision-making.
  • Track and document financial transactions to maintain complete audit trails and support audit readiness initiatives.
  • Analyze budget execution, identify funding issues or discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders and financial management personnel to support program funding requirements and resolve financial issues.
  • Ensure all financial documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted in accordance with DoD and organizational directives.
  • Support financial reporting, resource planning, and execution activities throughout the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.
  • Maintain financial records and supporting documentation to satisfy federal financial management and audit requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in resource management, including budget formulation, justification, and execution within a U.S. Government agency.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting established deadlines.
  • Final or Interim Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment at Government and/or contractor facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Budgeting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.
  • Experience supporting Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Military Department Headquarters, or other senior-level DoD organizations.
  • Working knowledge of DoD financial management systems, such as Defense Agency Initiative (DAI), Hyperion, OBIE, Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), G-Invoicing, and other federal financial systems.
  • Familiarity with federal appropriations law, financial reporting requirements, and audit readiness initiatives.
  • Experience preparing executive-level financial reports and briefing materials.
