Safran DSI Business Unit: Testing & Telemetry

POSITION PROFILE:

We are actively seeking a Senior Finance Manager who serves as the accounting and reporting leader for the Testing & Telemetry and Space Solutions business units and is responsible for the month, quarter, and year end close processes; reporting and analysis of actual results; internal controls; accounts payable; and account reconciliations. This role partners closely with the business units' Controller and DSI finance leadership to ensure financial integrity and support management decision-making while maintaining compliance with corporate policies and U.S. GAAP.

The Senior Finance Manager acts as a trusted advisor to business management by translating financial results into actionable business insights and ensuring strong financial governance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Financial Leadership
    • Actively manage and lead all accounting activities for the Testing & Telemetry and Space Solutions business units.
    • Provide financial guidance to business unit management and staff.
    • Serve as the primary accounting business partner supporting business unit operational decisions.
    • Drive a culture of accountability, financial discipline, and continuous improvement.
    • Work cross-functionally within finance and the business units to support projects and requirements of the teams.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for the business units in collaboration with the Controller and DSI finance.
    • Provide clear and actionable P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and operational performance analysis.
    • Monitor and interpret key business metrics and report variances against budget and forecast.
    • Prepare and validate monthly financial slides for business and corporate leadership meetings.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with and stay up to date on corporate accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.
    • Maintain strong internal controls to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
    • Support internal and external audit activities in a concise and timely manner.
  • Operational Finance
    • Partner with operations, sales, supply chain, and other functional leaders to provide finance and accounting support as needed.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend best practices.
    • Drive automation and standardization where possible across financial workflows.
  • Leadership
    • Lead, mentor, and develop assigned finance and accounting staff.
    • Foster collaboration between the business unit and DSI finance organization.
    • Actively support talent development and succession planning.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, and Accounting Assistant (AP)


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 8-12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience including financial reporting, accounting, and business partnership
  • Previous leadership experience supervising finance or accounting professionals
  • Strong accounting background in a mid or large size corporation including the ability to work successfully in a matrixed organization
  • Requisite knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Financial statement reporting and analysis skills
  • Internal controls and risk management background
  • Strong experience using Excel in an accounting and finance function
  • Self-starter, able to find, learn, and absorb information quickly
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and oral and written communication skills
  • Requires U.S. Citizenship


IDEALLY, YOU'LL ALSO HAVE:
  • CPA or CMA a plus
  • SAP or similar ERP system knowledge with implementation experience a plus
  • Experience working for a company reporting under IAS/IFRS preferred
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and business intelligence tools preferred
  • Fluency in the French language is a plus


  • TRAVEL: Monthly travel is expected for this position to Norcross, GA or Parker, CO
