Full Job Description
The Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for performing field service activities at customer sites in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing pumps and related mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys diagnosing equipment issues, performing preventative maintenance, and providing excellent customer service while working independently in the field.

Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance on pumps and related mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect equipment, identify mechanical issues, and recommend appropriate repairs or corrective actions.
  • Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, component replacement, and equipment inspections.
  • Install, repair, and maintain pumping systems and associated equipment.
  • Maintain service parts inventory and accurately complete service reports and documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company and customer safety standards.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing service calls.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of customer needs.
  • Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Ability to work safely in industrial environments and comply with all customer safety requirements.
  • Ability to obtain all required customer site clearances and safety certifications, including MSHA training and any additional site-specific requirements.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and tools as required for the position.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
Driving Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must meet company requirements to operate a company service vehicle.

  • Driver Disclosure and Release.
  • Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement (if applicable).

Education & Experience
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two to five years of field service, industrial maintenance, mechanical maintenance, or related technical experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting and repairing pumps, rotating equipment, diesel-powered equipment, or other industrial machinery.
Preferred
  • Experience working with industrial pumping systems or water and wastewater equipment.
  • Previous experience in mining, industrial, construction, or heavy equipment environments.
  • Industry-specific certifications or licenses.
Skills
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and equipment repairs.
  • Knowledge of pumps, motors, rotating equipment, hydraulics, diesel equipment, or similar mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile technology.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.


Compensation

The estimated hourly pay range for this position is $38.00 to $41.00 per hour.

Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location.
