Job Summary

The Senior Field Service Specialist at Rees Scientific is responsible for performing advanced installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of environmental monitoring systems and related equipment in regulated environments. This role serves as a senior technical resource in the field, exercising independent judgment and discretion in the execution of complex service activities, troubleshooting, and system optimization while ensuring all work meets established operational, quality, and regulatory standards.

The Senior Field Service Specialist plays a critical role in delivering high-quality service execution, supporting validation and compliance activities, and enhancing customer satisfaction. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving capability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This role does not include direct people-management responsibilities but requires leadership in technical expertise, mentorship, and field execution.

Working closely with Field Service leadership, Technical Support, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Experience teams, this role ensures accurate, compliant, and efficient service delivery across assigned regions.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Validation Execution & Technical Support
  • Perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of Rees Scientific systems and customer equipment
  • Lead complex service calls, including advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Exercise independent judgment in diagnosing and resolving non-routine technical issues
  • Execute system testing, verification, and performance checks to ensure proper functionality
  • Support validation-related activities including calibration verification and system readiness
  • Diagnose hardware, software, and network-related issues and implement corrective actions
  • Review job documentation and system configurations prior to service execution


Quality, Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete accurate and timely service documentation including service reports, calibration records, and work orders
  • Ensure all service activities comply with GMP, FDA, ISO, and company standards
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements
  • Support investigations, deviations, and corrective actions as required
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and customer site requirement


Customer Support & Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service activities, system performance, and recommendations
  • Provide professional recommendations and solutions based on technical expertise and system analysis
  • Support customer escalations and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Engineering, Technical Support, Quality, and Sales
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Field Service Technicians as needed


Continuous Improvement & Training
  • Maintain current knowledge of systems, tools, and industry best practices
  • Participate in required training and certification programs
  • Provide feedback to leadership on service processes, tools, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support initiatives focused on enhancing efficiency and customer experience


Qualifications & Experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Life Sciences, or related field preferred; or
  • Five to seven years of progressively responsible field service experience in a technical or regulated environment; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex, non-routine work requiring advanced technical knowledge
  • Strong technical background in calibration, troubleshooting, and system diagnostics
  • Experience working in regulated environments (GMP, FDA, ISO) preferred
  • Knowledge of environmental monitoring systems and networking fundamentals
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise discretion and judgment with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% as required to support customer sites


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 75% within assigned regions, including overnight and extended travel
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and climb ladders as required
  • Comfortable working in laboratories, cleanrooms, and industrial environments, including temperature variations.
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols and procedures while performing field service activities
