LOCATION: Hawthorne, NY (on-site) + travel required (continental United States)

Role Summary :
The
Senior Field Application Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the successful adoption, implementation, and ongoing use of Clarapath's SectionStar• and TrimStar Pro• systems. Working closely with customers and internal Engineering, Research & Development, Product, and Service teams, this individual will provide advanced application support, conduct product demonstrations and training, troubleshoot complex workflow and technical issues, and ensure customers are able to successfully integrate Clarapath's technology into their laboratory environments. Responsibilities :
- Serve as a senior technical and applications resource for Clarapath customers utilizing SectionStar• and TrimStar Pro• systems
- Support the implementation, installation, adoption, and ongoing use of Clarapath products at customer sites
- Conduct product demonstrations and provide comprehensive customer training on system operation, workflows, best practices, and troubleshooting
- Develop strong relationships with laboratory personnel, histotechnicians, pathologists, and other customer stakeholders
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and application support for complex customer, workflow, and product-related issues
- Evaluate customer workflows and recommend best practices to support successful integration and utilization of Clarapath technology
- Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Product, Manufacturing, and Service teams to investigate and resolve technical and application-related issues
- Serve as a key voice of the customer by collecting and communicating feedback related to product performance, usability, workflow integration, and customer needs
- Document customer interactions, technical issues, product observations, and resolutions accurately and thoroughly
- Support product validation, testing, and evaluation activities as needed
- Assist in the development and refinement of training materials, application guides, standard operating procedures, and other customer-facing documentation
- Identify trends and recurring customer challenges and recommend opportunities for product and process improvements
- Support pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations, technical discussions, and workflow consultations, as needed
- Travel to customer sites, conferences, laboratories, and other locations as required
- Represent Clarapath professionally and effectively when interacting with customers, partners, and industry professionals
- Support additional field application and customer success activities as needed
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Histology, Biology, Laboratory Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline preferred
- HT or HTL certification strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience in histology, pathology, laboratory applications, field applications, technical support, or a related field
- Strong understanding of histology workflows, including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, sectioning, staining, and slide preparation
- Experience working directly with laboratory equipment and troubleshooting technical or workflow-related issues
- Demonstrated experience training and supporting customers or end users
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly based on customer and business needs
- Prior experience as a Field Application Specialist, Applications Specialist, Clinical Application Specialist, or similar customer-facing technical role, a plus
- Experience supporting laboratory automation, medical devices, pathology systems, or other advanced laboratory technologies, a plus
- Experience working with automated tissue sectioning or histology equipment, a plus
- Familiarity with product development and the process of communicating field feedback to engineering and product teams, a plus
- Experience supporting product launches and customer implementations, a plus
- Experience delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations, a plus
- Familiarity with laboratory quality systems and regulated environments, a plus
Physical Requirements : - Ability to travel regularly to customer sites and other business locations
- Ability to work in laboratory and clinical environments while following applicable safety requirements
- Ability to operate and demonstrate technical equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods during customer training, demonstrations, and laboratory activities
- Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment, supplies, and materials in accordance with applicable safety guidelines
