About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Senior Fiduciary Specialty Asset Manager (Energy) within Banking, Lending & Trust, part of Wealth & Investment Management (WIM).

This role supports the Energy Asset Management Group and is responsible for administering and overseeing energy-related specialty assets held in fiduciary accounts (e.g., trusts, estates, agencies). The position requires a strong risk mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to partner effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties to help ensure asset administration aligns with governing documents, policy, and applicable requirements.

In this role, you will:

• Lead or participate in the management of a complex portfolio of oil, gas, mineral, renewable energy, and other specialty energy assets held in fiduciary, trust, and investment management accounts.
• Assess asset-specific, operational, regulatory, and market risks while ensuring compliance with fiduciary standards, banking regulations, and internal asset management policies through ongoing asset reviews and reporting.
• Conduct complex specialty asset management activities, including negotiating and administering oil and gas leases, evaluating development proposals, reviewing division orders, overseeing renewable energy agreements, coordinating asset sales and acquisitions, arranging appraisals, and monitoring operator performance.
• Analyze reserve reports, valuation methodologies, engineering data, and market trends to support asset pricing, strategic recommendations, and client deliverables while leveraging a strong understanding of fiduciary principles, banking regulations, and Wells Fargo investment policies.
• Collaborate with operators, landmen, attorneys, engineers, accountants, energy developers, Wells Fargo internal partners, clients, and other stakeholders to communicate recommendations, asset strategies, and decisions derived from detailed research and analysis.
• Represent fiduciary interests and serve as a liaison with advisory committees, boards of directors, family governance structures, and other governing bodies regarding specialty asset management matters.
• Provide guidance and leadership to team members on specialty asset administration, lease negotiations, valuation reviews, due diligence activities, and complex client asset management issues.

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Energy Experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• Registered Landman (RL) or Registered Professional Landman (RPL) or Certified Professional Landman (CPL)
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting trust, estate, or fiduciary administration involving specialty assets.
• Working knowledge of energy asset types and concepts (examples may include mineral/royalty interests, lease terms, division orders, unitization/pooling, suspense resolution).
• Ability to interpret land/title/legal documents and partner with attorneys/land professionals to resolve ownership and documentation issues.
• Experience reconciling revenue statements/cash flows and researching variances; familiarity with basic valuation concepts for energy-related assets is a plus.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data validation); experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools preferred.
• Demonstrated success working in a highly controlled environment, with strong documentation discipline, attention to detail, and a risk-and-control mindset.
• Experience working with enterprise workflow/case management tools and/or relevant industry systems (or proven ability to learn new systems quickly).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex asset issues clearly to business partners and/or clients.
