Job DescriptionResponsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesThe selected applicant will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks:
- Determine job hazards, defining appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be used by workers, schedule tasks and project elements to eliminate interference, enhance the safe execution of work, and track and trend work packages for continuous improvement.
- Obtain quotes, create Statements of Work, Exhibit B and any other pertinent documents for subcontract work.
- Furnish technical suggestions and advice on alterations and improvements to physical facilities, maintenance and repair work, and operating services.
- Provide broad facilities support during exercises, drills, and real-world events; to include home team functions and/or deployable operational support.
- Act as backup Work Planner to create Type I, 2, 3, and 4 work packages, tool pouches, and control procedures.
- Promptly correct or report any hazards or potential hazards to supervision.
- Participate in and embrace MSTS environment, safety, health, and quality initiatives.
- Become a certified Subcontractor Technical Representative.
- Research source and costs for standard and special purpose items and tracks the status of all ordered items.
- Prepare requisitions for procured items.
- Become a Qualified Electrical Worker according to MSTS's standards and policies to assist with electrical projects.
- Assist Facilities personnel with facility-related projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Facility Manager.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent training and experience with at least 5 years relevant, progressively responsible experience.
- Desired two years' experience in Operations, Maintenance, and Construction is highly desirable.
- Ability to demonstrate a basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical and mechanical applications for use in planning and estimating work is required.
- Must be able to work effectively alone and/or in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with personnel, supporting organizations, external customers, and visitors.
- Must be willing to work non-standard hours due to emergency situations and be able to respond as directed.
- Knowledge of building systems and supporting processes to ensure safe and efficient operations. Practical facility management experience preferred.
- Must be able to deal effectively with conflicting deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building.
- Physical requirements include ability to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to climb, crouch and reach.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects that involve colleagues and subcontractors.
- The selected candidate must be available for emergency recall and building repairs.
- The selected candidate must have functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- The primary work location will be at the Remote Sensing Laboratory-Andrews, on Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
- The selected candidate will be able to choose from the following work schedules: 4/10s, Monday through Thursday; 9/80 (off every other Friday); 5/8s (Monday through Friday).
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Annual salary range for this position is:
$80,579.20 - $120,868.80.Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
