Full Job Description
The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) organization is seeking a Senior Executive Assistant to support the Global Vice President of Workplace Health and Safety. WHS is a high-impact, high-visibility organization that requires an EA with a high degree of integrity, discretion, and the ability to navigate complex and competing priorities with confidence. You will operate as a true strategic partner to the VP, driving operational excellence through complex calendar management, travel planning, and organizational rhythms. You will work closely with the Chief of Staff to ensure the VP's office runs seamlessly. This role is based in Bellevue, WA.

As the Lead EA, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the VP and senior leadership team, someone who anticipates needs, connects dots across the organization, and drives outcomes without waiting to be asked. You will also directly manage and mentor the Second EA within the VP's office, ensuring a resilient two-EA model with well-defined responsibilities and consistent, high-quality delivery. Beyond the VP's office, you will help develop and mentor a team of 18 EAs across the WHS organization, building mechanisms that ensure high-quality support for senior leadership. This role requires exceptional judgment, full autonomy, and the ability to operate with discretion at the highest levels of the organization. It offers significant leadership development opportunities and direct influence on how a global safety organization operates.

Key job responsibilities
• Own and drive end-to-end calendar management for the VP, including strategic scheduling, complex prioritization across time zones, and proactive conflict resolution.
• Lead space management strategy: represent the team in GREF meetings, drive space planning decisions, manage escalations, and deliver quarterly reporting to leadership on seating and capacity.
• Design and execute team-building programs and organizational events; develop scalable playbooks and best practices for hub offices globally.
• Earn Trust by cultivating deep relationships with safety leadership, operations partners, HR, legal, finance, and cross-functional stakeholders. Serve as a strategic liaison across WHS and the broader Amazon EA community.
• Manage complex domestic and international travel logistics, optimize travel processes, and oversee expense reporting with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

A day in the life

Your day starts with a strategic review of the VP's calendar and priorities for the week ahead, identifying conflicts, preparing briefing materials, and aligning with the Second EA on task distribution. By mid-morning, you're leading a cross-functional sync, resolving an escalated scheduling conflict, and coaching the Second EA. Afternoons bring rapid reprioritization: executive-level meeting prep, last-minute leadership requests, and decisions on behalf of the VP's office. Some days you're designing a new organizational rhythm; other days you're fielding competing priorities from multiple directors while keeping the VP's schedule on track. By the end of the day, the leadership team operates seamlessly because you anticipated needs before they arose.
