Full Job Description
DESCRIPTION

This is a true hunter position for someone who thrives on prospecting, networking, relationship building, and winning new business. You'll be responsible for creating new opportunities, building a robust sales pipeline, and converting prospects into long-term Fresh City clients.

While new business development is the primary focus of this role, you'll also serve as a trusted advisor to your clients, collaborating closely with our culinary and operations teams to ensure every event exceeds expectations and reflects the level of killer hospitality Fresh City is known for.

Your primary performance indicators are centered around new client acquisition, revenue growth, account expansion, and overall sales performance.

Major Role Responsibilities

NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (70%)

Prospect, qualify, and secure new event opportunities across corporate, nonprofit, and institutional markets.

Build relationships with executive assistants, corporate decision-makers, event planners, venue partners, and community organizations.

Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities.

Generate new business through networking, referrals, industry events, cold outreach, and relationship-building initiatives.

Consistently meet and exceed revenue and sales activity goals.

Increase Fresh City's visibility and market presence throughout Greater Boston.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (30%)

Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client accounts.

Convert catering clients into full-service event clients.

Develop long-term partnerships that generate repeat business and referrals.

Lead client consultations, proposal development, contract negotiations, and event planning discussions.

Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the client journey.

Maintain ownership of the client experience from the initial inquiry through event completion while partnering closely with our culinary and operations teams to ensure flawless execution.

EVENT LEADERSHIP

Participate in client meetings, site visits, tastings, and networking events.

Represent Fresh City Events as a brand ambassador throughout the Greater Boston marketplace.

Partner with operations and culinary teams to ensure seamless event execution.

Maintain ownership of the client experience from initial inquiry through event completion.

COMMUNICATION

Outstanding daily communication with clients and internal operations and culinary teams.

Build trust through consultative conversations that uncover client needs and position Fresh City Events as a long-term hospitality partner.

Possess exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Represent Fresh City Events professionally while communicating our mission, values, and commitment to killer hospitality in every interaction.

Confident, professional, and collaborative. Comfortable asking thoughtful questions, gathering details, and ensuring complete accuracy throughout the sales process.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Demonstrate disciplined pipeline management and CRM proficiency.

Maintain accurate client records, opportunity tracking, and sales forecasting.

Develop a strong understanding of Fresh City's event capabilities, hospitality offerings, staffing, rentals, and operational logistics in order to confidently guide clients through the planning process.

YOU HAVE AND REFLECT THE FOLLOWING

5+ years of successful sales experience in catering, hospitality, venue sales, event sales, or related industries.

Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales goals.

Demonstrated success in a true business development or hunter-oriented sales role.

Strong understanding of event operations, staffing, rentals, and hospitality logistics.

Established network within the Boston corporate, nonprofit, hospitality, or events community is highly preferred.

Experience selling premium catering, hospitality services, venues, or event solutions is preferred.

A natural hunter who genuinely enjoys prospecting, building relationships, and winning new business.

Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and highly motivated by results.

Strategic and consultative in your approach to sales.
