This Opportunity

Are you ready to help drive the next phase of energy infrastructure across the Texas/Louisiana region? WSP is seeking an accomplished Senior Environmental Project Manager with extensive experience managing both large and small environmental projects within the power and energy sector. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, growing team delivering impactful solutions in a rapidly evolving industry.

The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in siting and routing, environmental impact assessment, and project permitting, along with strong collaboration skills and a comprehensive understanding of the Texas/Louisiana regional energy markets.

To support our growing workload, this professional will join WSP's interdisciplinary Energy team focused on siting and routing, state permitting, and impact assessments across the social, natural, and physical environment. This role may be based in Austin, TX; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX; Fort Worth/Dallas, TX; Corpus Christi, TX; or Baton Rouge, LA.

Our teams work collaboratively across the region and with planners, scientists, engineers, biologists, and archeologists throughout WSP to meet client and community needs.
Your Impact
  • Project Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams across complex energy projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Siting and Routing: Direct site selection and route evaluation for transmission, distribution, and generation facilities.
  • Permitting Expertise: Manage environmental permitting, applications, agency coordination, public meetings, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Regulatory Engagement: Partner with local, state, and federal agencies; provide strategic guidance on state filing requirements. Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.
  • Market & Strategy Insight: Monitor policy trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in the Texas/Louisiana energy market.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, agencies, landowners, and internal partners.
  • Business Development: Lead proposal development, scope definition, budgets, schedules, and client relationship growth.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion innovation, operational efficiency, and best practices across project delivery.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience managing environmental projects in the energy sector (transmission, generation, renewables, or pipelines).
  • Demonstrated expertise in siting and routing, permitting, impact assessments, and regulatory compliance in TX, LA, AR, OK, NM, or MS.
  • Experience preparing and managing Public Utility Commission/Public Service Commission applications, including expert testimony.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, schedules, and contractors across the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including public meetings and community outreach.
  • Track record of successful proposal development, client growth, and team leadership.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
