Serves as serves as a Senior Enterprise Print Support Administrator for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) performing complex professional and advisory functions in System Services, including developing methodologies and procedures to standardize functions across all environmental platforms. In this role, you will manage and maintains= infrastructure supporting the enterprise network printer environment. Additionally, you will serve as a project coordinator on highly complex projects while independently planning, developing, and implementing techniques for gathering and interpreting data, including all aspects of IT security. Essential Functions- Under administrative direction, serves as a Senior Enterprise Print Support Administrator for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) performing complex professional and advisory functions in System Services, including developing methodologies and procedures to standardize functions across all environmental platforms.
- Serves as project coordinator on highly complex projects while independently planning, developing, and implementing techniques for gathering and interpreting data, including all aspects of IT security password protection utilities, access methods, and all other areas of IT security.
- Performs functions necessary for the access and security of agency and customer data, including coordinating and conferring with customers and technical staff to create file structures to support customer data requirements.
- Performs extensive research, discovery, and planning to initiate customer testing and production migration of domain legacy Microsoft Active Directory (AD) to the enterprise Active Directory environment (Illinois.gov), including coordinating the decommission of legacy permissions, attributes, and directories.
- Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with coursework in computer science or directly related fields.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience in System Services or a related Information Technology field.
Specialized Skills- Requires three (3) years of professional experience managing enterprise print environments, including supporting and directing Microsoft Print servers and Iprint appliances, installing and updating printer drivers, configuring enterprise network printers, and collaborating with technicians to maintain complex print infrastructures.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience applying network communication concepts and principles, including working with networks, routers, routing protocols, switches, firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Domain Name Service (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) when supporting enterprise systems.
- Requires three (3) years of professional experience working with Microsoft Active Directory and other directory structures, including performing research, discovery, testing, and migration activities using complex and specialized software packages and scripts to support domain and data migrations.
Preferred Qualifications (In Order of Significance)- Three (3) years of professional experience managing enterprise print environments, including supporting and directing print servers or Iprint appliances, installing and updating printer drivers, configuring enterprise network printers, and collaborating with technicians to maintain complex print infrastructures.
- Three (3) years of professional experience applying network communication concepts and principles, including working with networks, routers, routing protocols, switches, firewalls, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Domain Name Service (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Windows Internet Name Service (WINS), or similar concepts and principles when supporting enterprise systems.
- Three (3) years of professional experience working with Microsoft Active Directory and other directory structures, including performing research, discovery, testing, and migration activities using complex and specialized software packages and scripts to support domain and data migrations.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft desktop packages to perform administrative functions, develop documentation, assign work, and support enterprise-wide technical operations.
- Ability to coordinate, plan and complete multiple priorities, including leading highly complex projects, monitoring work quality, interpreting policies and procedures, and providing technical guidance to staff and customers.
- Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgement in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature.
- Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.
- Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information clearly and precisely to diverse audiences, including business owners, development teams, agency executives, and others.
