Position Overview

 

Peraton is seeking a highly experienced Senior Enterprise Architect to support a federal government customer IC. The successful candidate will lead enterprise architecture strategy, modernization planning, systems integration, and technology governance efforts across complex mission and enterprise environments. This role requires deep expertise in federal architecture frameworks, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, cybersecurity, data architecture, and mission systems integration within classified environments.

 

The Senior Enterprise Architect will collaborate with government leadership, mission stakeholders, engineering teams, cybersecurity personnel, and program managers to align technology investments with mission objectives, operational priorities, and compliance requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead development and maintenance of enterprise architecture strategies, roadmaps, standards, and transition plans supporting IC mission objectives.
  • Analyze current-state architectures and define target-state architectures across business, application, data, security, and infrastructure domains.
  • Provide architectural guidance for modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, zero trust implementation, AI/ML integration, data platforms, and digital transformation programs.
  • Support architecture governance processes, technical reviews, and design authority boards.
  • Develop and maintain architecture artifacts, models, operational views, and technical documentation using frameworks such as DoDAF, TOGAF, and IC-specific architecture guidance.
  • Ensure alignment of systems and solutions with federal mandates, IC directives, cybersecurity requirements, and agency strategic goals.
  • Advise senior government leadership on technology strategy, capability gaps, risk mitigation, and investment prioritization.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, solution architects, cybersecurity engineers, and software development teams to ensure architectural consistency and interoperability.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations regarding adoption, scalability, operational impact, and mission relevance.
  • Support enterprise data management, API integration strategies, and cross-domain information sharing initiatives.
  • Lead architecture assessments, technology rationalization efforts, and portfolio modernization activities.
  • Contribute to acquisition planning, technical evaluations, and architecture compliance reviews for new programs and systems.
  • Support classified and unclassified environments, ensuring adherence to security and accreditation requirements.

  • 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems architecture, or related technical leadership roles supporting federal government or Intelligence Community customers.
  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise architectures within classified environments.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • DoDAF, TOGAF, FEAF, and IC architecture methodologies
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure Government, Google Cloud)
    • Hybrid cloud and on-premises architectures
    • Zero Trust Architecture principles
    • Cybersecurity frameworks including NIST RMF and IC cybersecurity policies
    • Enterprise integration patterns and API management
    • Data architecture, data governance, and analytics platforms
  • Experience supporting large-scale modernization and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of networking, infrastructure, virtualization, and distributed systems.
  • Experience facilitating executive-level technical discussions and architecture governance boards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TOGAF, AWS, Azure, CISSP, SAFe, or PMP certifications.
  • Experience supporting multi-agency IC programs or cross-domain architectures.
  • Familiarity with:
    • DevSecOps pipelines and platform engineering
    • AI/ML platforms and advanced analytics
    • Data mesh, data fabric, or enterprise data lake architectures
    • Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies
    • Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM)

Target Salary Range$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
